21  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Flower Power: Onesies! on: June 13, 2007 02:16:56 PM

My sister in law just had a baby girl, and my best friend is due next month to have a girl. I started these in the end of May while my hubby was in the hospital. It was a great way to pass the time, lol. I embroidered onto patches and then sewed those onto the onesies. I suck at centering things on shirts, so they're kind of a little off. Oh well, when they're covered in spit up no one will notice Wink

22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Trying out the pinch and twist technique... on: May 09, 2007 09:09:21 AM

I've been wanting to try this for a while and I finally got around to it today. I wish I had some gold wire because this mix of beads would have looked better with that than silver. I also was kind of at a loss on how to finish the necklace. The long silver beads hide where I connected the twisting wire to the flexible wire.
Any tips on how to make this better would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for looking

23  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Addicted to Flower Power- A hoodie on: May 03, 2007 01:56:17 PM
I bought this tan hooded shirt and thought it needed some oomph. What did it need? Flowers!
The pic isn't perfect, but you get the idea.

Comments and critiques are always welcome!

24  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / A Spring inspired set on: April 11, 2007 12:13:05 PM
I made this set today with Spring in mind. I got all the beads except for the pendant in one of those huge packs of coordinated beads at Wal Mart for $5. The pendant was also from Wal Mart for $2. The findings I already had. I must admit I've bought almost of the color schemes of those big bead packs. They're great beads at such a great price. Most of them are made from glass or clay, unlike the all plastic beads you get in most packs. Ok, /end rave  Smiley

I wore it to the grocery store this afternoon and the cashier said "Ohh, nice bracelet!".
Happy Spring!

25  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Flower Power- 2 tanks and a tee on: March 27, 2007 03:27:02 PM
I love the Flower Power pack! Here's the shirts I used it on. I used a split stitch on the majority of it. The center of the yellow flowers I just winged it as I cannot seem to master a French knot.

The blue shirt is my favorite. I like how the burgundy floss stands out.
Thanks for smelling my flowers! Hehe

26  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / A Spring swag on: March 12, 2007 11:20:28 AM
With the recent 60 and 70 degree weather I got into a Springy mood and made this today.

There's a grapevine base, but it's kind of hard to see. The flash kind of makes the ribbon look more shimmering than it really is.
Hobby Lobby had flowering bushes 50% off this week, so all those flowers came from bushes.

Happy Spring!

27  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / A set for every outfit I own! on: March 05, 2007 07:00:00 PM
I just got a new job where I have to wear business clothes. I decided I needed some new jewlery to go with my new outfits.
My images are pretty big so I'm doing links for most of them.

28  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Necklace & earring sets * Image heavy* on: January 24, 2007 02:35:22 PM
I finally got a burst of creativity today. It's been about 2 years since I made any jewelry, so I'm really happy with how these turned out.
The wire wrapped beads on the green set came that way, so I can't take any credit for those.

29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / A holly jolly bra & panty set (Probably not work safe) on: December 14, 2006 10:16:54 AM
I was looking online for a Naughty Santa outfit to suprise hubby with, but I didn't want to shell out $50 for some nylon mesh and fun fur. So I improvised as only Crafsters can do! I bought everything at Wal Mart, the bra was $8 and the panties were $3, the yarn was $2 for a skein. I used two strands of yarn at a time and just hot glued them around.  If I do this again though I would strech the panties as I go. They're a strechy fabric and the hot glue made them not so strechy. That or buy a bigger size than what you would normally wear.  The good thing about the hot glue was that if I messed up I could just peel it off and start over. Also it only took about 15 mintues to do this, since it dried fast.

30  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Denim flower power! on: September 09, 2006 11:17:45 AM
I spent an hour at the mall yesterday looking for a new purse. I wound up walking out though not liking any purse I saw, or any price tags I saw either.
So today I decided to make my own. This is the second Jordy bag I've made.
I used a pair of jeans for the denim fabric, and the lining is some vintage stuff I got in a swap. I made the flower on the outside from the lining as well.

Thanks for lookin'!

P.S. Lessons learned: Alway make sure your right sides are together BEFORE you start sewing.  Roll Eyes  Also I probably should've used interfacing, but the purse is small enough that it's ok if it's a little on the floppy side.

ETA: I just realized this should probably be on the recon. board, oops.
