1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / New purse recon... on: November 05, 2012 12:27:02 PM
I bought a new purse today but it didn't have enough personality for my taste. I'm terribly picky about purses, and I'm a cheapskate, so it's really hard to find one I like. I liked the inside of this purse but I wasn't crazy about the flap. I took the flap off but the magnetic clasp was still on the front of the purse. I used the lining from the inside of the flap to make a flower and I put the magnet from the flap on the back of the flower. The button I had in my stash already. The best part was the only sewing that I had to do was on the flower!

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Nursery wall art- owls on: November 17, 2010 04:00:23 AM
Thanks everyone!

I got the supplies at Hobby Lobby. The little wooden frames are normally only $1.47, but this week "unfinished wood decor" is 40% off. You can't beat HL's sales! The stickers were I think $3.99 and I used the printable 40% off coupon for those. So all together this project only cost me about $5, I already had the paint at home.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Nursery wall art- owls on: November 16, 2010 01:21:18 PM
I made these for my son's nursery today. I got the frames plain and painted them, the owls are 3D scrapbooking stickers.

The rest of the nursery is here if anyone wants to see it :http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=364908.0

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Our woodsy nursery! on: November 16, 2010 01:15:47 PM
We're expecting our first baby any day now, I put the finishing touches on his nursery today and decided it was time to take some pictures! We are renters so I tried to limit the number of holes in the walls. I used a lot of vinyl decals and they were the jumping off point for the woodsy theme. I used some of the decals on the crib and dresser too. The nursery also is our guest room, so that's why there's a bed in there taking up space, lol.

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Baby name letters on: September 16, 2010 05:55:00 AM
Thanks Earthie! Yes, I hand painted them. The main trouble I found with the foam as I tried to hang them is that when I dug out holes in the back for the pushpins they would never sit straight on the wall. I ended up gluing the letters side-by-side and then hanging the whole thing from one ribbon. I was going to put ribbon on each letter at first, but I thought it would be too hard to get them all even. Congrats on all your grandbabies!

That's adorable! You could also make one a "Team Edward" and the other a "Team Jacob" onesie.

Thanks JulieOZ! These took paint pretty well, although there were some rough parts that needed a light sanding before I painted. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to hang them, I may just drill out a little hole in the back so they can hang on a push pin.

That's awesome! I love how every layer is different. Not to sound snarky, but it's so nice to see a 7 year old who wants a cowgirl theme instead of a princess theme!

Those onesies are awesome! That's too bad you couldn't attend the shower, after all that hard work! It looks like they sure enjoyed it though Smiley
