I like 'Birds of a Feather'... but how about "Beads of a Feather"?
Since that's sorta what they are, don'tcha know.
BTW, Love It!

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: How to imitate a Jewish canopy? on: January 19, 2007 02:08:18 PM
Hi!
We're interfaith too - same deal, he's Jewish.
We were married in a grove of trees, and so we went out and bought a very nice (expensive) bed canopy, hung it from a tree branch, suspended the corners with bamboo poles, and created tulle swags down the poles. Then we wove sunflower and ivy garlands (real, ugh, what were we thinking?!?) and hung them from it. Now the canopy hangs over our bed. Romantic. That was ten years and one child (yes, conceived under our wedding canopy Wink) ago, wow! Time flies!
Good luck!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: "The Acid Green Taxi Cab" dress on: January 18, 2007 02:51:11 PM
Okay. Wasn't going to say anything, man, but now I can't help it, my resistance has been worn down.
This is like the fourth or fifth dress in a row...THAT ROCKS THE HOUSE. Grin
Plus your shoe collection is totally fab.
And I think I like your bathroom.
Nice!

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Penguin Purse Organizer (like AS SEEN ON TV) on: November 30, 2006 07:22:35 AM
Ooo! What you've done is great! This is a good idea. I'm thinking thin plastic as the stablizer inside of mine, because I'm forever putting sweaty bottles of water in there. Cardboard+my slovenly purse habits=pulpy mess.
Now...where to find strips of thin plastic *looks stealthily around house*

I hereby offer up the "Real Craftsters don't steal...they swap!" to anyone who wants to make a t-shirt of it.  I love Craftster, and feel really honored to be part of this community. I'm just crappy at stenciling.
Consider it a swap...silly quote in exchange for all the kindness and inspiration I've gotten here.
xo

Ooo! Isn't someone tempted to make a "Boycott the Gilmore Girls" t-shirt?
Back of the t-shirt should say
"Real Craftsters don't steal...they SWAP!"
Then the website addy...
Mwah haha.
I'd buy one.

stitchbitch, if you make one of those with the proceeds going to craftster I will be the first to order.

Let's not go making any more copyright infringement everyone! Grin Seriously -- I don't want to cause any actions to be taken that could damage this situation. I'm sure you all understand.

Can you all tell that I'm one of those women who lets her four year old play hooky from school to go to protests? Roll Eyes
I certainly know about making a bad situation worse, and it is definately something else I'd never, ever do.
Still, I can dream, can't I? Wink
Sure this will all work out for the best. Most people don't suck, and things like this are frequently just someone's ooops. Should have said that before, but I was ranting...Now I'm better.

Just so you don't think I'm just terribly mean spirited...
In real life, I am a costume designer/stylist for theatre, TV and film.
I would NEVER, EVER, EVER! steal a logo, copyrighted or not and put it out there as my work. Its lazy and stupid, and furthermore...okay, its mostly lazy and stupid. Inspiration is one thing; the old snatch and take credit is another altogether.
It is so easy these days to ask folks to use their work and then just give credit where credit is due! If they don't want their stuff out there,  don't use it. Its not like your Emmy award is riding on a t-shirt!
(However it must be said that the Craftster Skull is pretty inspired)
Just checked the costume designer on the International Movie Database. If I find out that she's an alumn of my grad program, oh, for shame...
