1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / DIY crochet ear cushion for headphone on: April 30, 2013 10:09:19 AM
The foam ear cushions from my headset were falling apart.
It turned out these are not available separately.

So I've crocheted my own!
They are very easy to make.
I made them from organic cotton.

I wrote down what I did and posted the free tutorial on my blog:

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Zity-Kitty, a design for Hoooked zpagetti on: August 24, 2009 04:53:13 AM

In a Dutch magazine "Handwerken Zonder Grenzen" there is a contest to make a design for a yarn called Hoooked zpagetti http://www.hoooked.nl/.
This yarn is a tube of jersey made of rest materials from the fabric and fashion industries.

Since I didn't have the yarn at hand I made my own version to get a material with similar properties. I cut up 2 t-shirts in two long bands of jersey yarn. With this I knitted my design in dropped stitches on needles sz 10.

And here's the result: a "Ztad-Kat" (="Zity-Kitty") It's a cozy for the small poles you find in a lot of Dutch towns. I did it in red and white because many cities, like my own, have those as their town-colours. And the candy stripe effect makes it an original decoration for the upcoming holidays!

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Easy crochet - bottle carrier on: May 31, 2007 01:52:34 PM
I have a lot of left overs of cotton yarn lying about. So in an attempt to de-stash I am working on projects that don't require a lot of yarn.

Here's my latest: a crochet bottle carrier with attitude. It's very easy to make, I didn't use a pattern. But if you wish for a tute I can make a photo-story. (I am not good at the English crochet lingo, it's even worse than my knittin-english. )

What do you think?

4  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / I Got Big feet--Flaunt it -- back to the 80s shoe-makeover on: May 26, 2007 01:16:23 PM
Hi Ya,
I'd like to share my big shoes (I'm tall , over 6 feet high, and a shoe size 12 isn't easy to come by). Since I do not have that much options and WOLKY is the only brand that fits comfortably,  I must make an adaption now and then to the shoes I have acquired. ( Please note black Mary Janes fit comfortably without any aquirement, however a lace up shoe bought on sale might need a little something extra like this): A pair of lime shoes bought in sale
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f317/MissMinoes/PICT4635.jpg
, I was hoping to make less "in your face",  since I didn't feel that comfortable with the colour. However: while dying the shoes I was getting carried away by "Dispatch from the 80s" cds, and I was going all
waved and Punked up, so this is the final result after a 1.5 bottle of black and .5 bottle of red shoe paint:

I do hope I still like it tomorrow morning =^x^=  , but I feel quiet confident. It's more ME than any shoes I bought in the last 10 years (maybe it is one of those 40something  crisis thingies).
=^x^=

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Ducky, ducky, ducky - kitty on: February 18, 2007 02:36:02 PM
Here's my latest kitty hat creation.
It's made of leftover blues and it's got plenty of duckies!

I also add the ducky chart I made , because it can also be used for baby blankets, kid sweaters etcetera.

Here's the chart.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Black and white illusion scarf: MADNESS logo on: January 07, 2007 12:19:39 PM
I finally got around to make a picture! This is what I gave my boyfriend for christmas:

I designed the illusion chart for the logo and 2tone blocks myself but had to start over again 3 times because it didn't work out the way I wanted it.
So I ran out of time and ended up knitting part of the scarf in front of him(!), hiding most of it under my arms while knitting.
He thought I was knitting a simple black/white striped scarf for a custom order (hehe....should've seen his face when he opened the package).

I'll try to make a neater chart to share, but I ended up with so many corrections of corrections that it's a bit messy now.

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / X-mas ornaments with an evil twist (complete w/ photos) on: December 09, 2006 01:50:49 PM
What to hang in your tree, if you are more a halloween than an x-mas person?

Perhaps this:

I made these free style (without pattern).

The difference a little red gingham can make....
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Tampon cozy for clear airplane bag + crochet flowers on: October 25, 2006 12:30:13 PM
I guess I'm not the only one buying instant craft kits (especially when they're on sale). I bought a couple knitting craft sets in some very handy transparent bags (with zipper).
Since I NEVER throw anything out, I quickly figured out these would be handy for the clear plastic bag you're allowed to carry your hand luggage travelling on airplanes.

I made some free hand crochet flowers for decoration, and a tampon cozy. For hey, it's a clear bag, and some things are kind of...personal.
The tampon cozy is a tube made from 20 stitches, and later on sewed close at the bottom. Very easy!

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / fishy kitty hat on: July 02, 2006 02:41:26 PM
Hi there,
Inspired by Lasandri's fish&worm hat http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=93827.0

and thanks to a gift of a LOT of turquoise acrylic yarn:
My newest kitty hat "Fish On My Mind".

I'm knitting these hats for charity (local animal shelter), but I like to stay challanged. It can't be all just black kitty hats & nurse kitty hats! Especially since I got so much free yarn from other supporters of the animal shelter. A gift like that calls for creating something extra special with it.

Thanx for looking.

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / photo frame for 'new dad' & 'new mom' on: May 27, 2006 10:01:23 AM
Hi,
I already had the gift for my friend's baby: a crochet baby  kitty hat ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=95642.0 ). But what to give the new dad, and what to give a new mother, who works in a drugstore and has bath oils and body lotions pouring out of her closet?
I have noticed with a lot of new parents that they have a lot of pics of either mother&baby or father&baby. So I decided to make a set of photoframes to combine both pictures into 1 family.

So I came up with putting together:

1. two $2 photoframes
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f317/MissMinoes/PICT3643.jpg

2. clip art to be decoupaged
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f317/MissMinoes/PICT3645.jpg

3. things like "proud dad" "peekaboo..hihihi" "cuddly mom" printed out on transparent paper, which will go over the pictures
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f317/MissMinoes/PICT3644.jpg

to result in:

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f317/MissMinoes/PICT3661.jpg

I hope my friend doesn't mind the joke of her behind the laundry!

Hope you like it.
Thanks for looking.
