1  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Re: Simplicity 3503 Knit dress on: July 07, 2009 07:04:18 AM
you did a great job!!! i just bought this pattern off ebay, I really want a maxi for an important event and this pattern actually has the long maxi in it.  Do you think a beginner will be able to wing it?  Some people have said that there are some steps missing. This will be my first real dress, I've only practice on muslin before.  Thanks!!!

I have Simplicity 2 hour 9505..i used this pattern when I took a sewing class, you only have two pieces to cut, then you sew up the seam, put one pant leg inside the other, then sew up the crotch area (sorry, could find a better more elegant word) LOL!! and do the waistband and hem the pants leg, super duper easy peasy

Thank you everybody that's exactly what I'm gonna do. I'm just gonna get everything together myself Smiley  all except for the scale I'll buy online. One question though what type of themometer do I buy like one of those turkey ones that you just stick in?  I saw it in the Soapmaker's Companion book. Thanks Smiley

I like your hat too! I recently bought the book and even though I'm left handed I was able to figure out how to crochet.   I did the kinky reggae snood too! But I did it in the large. Nice work!

Hi to all the Soapmakers!!! I have been researching how to make soap and I came across these sites that have a kit with everything to make my first batch the first site is from crabapplesoap.com: http://www.crabapplesoap.com/kits.html Does anybody know if they are reputable?  Everything is pre-measured so I would have to buy a scale for the next batch that I make.  The second one is from Brambleberry.com: http://www.brambleberry.com/kits.html (its about half way down called the Cold Process Kit.  I'm leaning towards the first one I just need someone's advice that can help me decide. Thanks!
