1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Dia de los Muertos Matchbox on: May 11, 2011 08:43:39 AM
Holy hell, this is amazing. The attention to detail is topnotch. I was sufficiently impressed by the matchbox, and then I was like, "Oh cool, a ribcage" and then rational thought left me when I saw the finished product.  I can only imagine your partner's reaction when she received.

I don't swap because I am self-aware of my flakiness when it comes to letter-writing/card-sending and know that I can't just give up after months of no contact and email a craft to my poor neglected partner. It's amazing projects like this that make me really regret that flaky side of me (more than annoyed siblings and a nagging mother ever could).

Aw, this is adorable! So simple, but super cute.

Also, I fully blame 'The Brave Little Toaster' for my hoarding tendencies. Mom tried to give one of my childhood blankets away not too long ago and I was like NO IT WILL MISS ME.

What an adorable idea! I wish I'd thought of it a few weeks ago...I had swept up a huge pile of debris from my yard and the neighborhood robins kept raiding it. I felt kinda bad that all my yard junk was getting picked up and deposited in my neighbors' eaves and gutters Smiley

Let us know if you see any pretty nests in your tress soon!
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: QR Code Sampler on: March 21, 2011 11:35:18 AM
Adorable! I squealed upon scanning it. I love the mix of quaint and 21st century Smiley
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Painting a Planter AFTER planting something in it :( Help! on: March 21, 2011 07:02:54 AM
So, I have this planter:

http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/03/14/62/59/0003146259640_300X300.jpg
And I planted a bunch of pansies in it yesterday and put it on my porch and then immediately after planting them decided that it needed to be painted green. Of course.

Is there a way I can paint it and make it waterproof without killing my pansies? And without having to uproot and replant them?
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Re: DIY outdoor cushions - help on: March 21, 2011 06:54:17 AM
I'm looking for tips on the exact same thing! My outdoor wooden swings were hand-made, therefore nothing seems to fit them (not to mention outdoor cushions are expensive and the local selection is pretty blah).

I was thinking about using either outdoor table cloths or shower curtains (not the plastic inner liner but the outer fabric kind). I just don't know how they'd hold up.

ETA: Found this: It doesn't have a pattern, but has some helpful tips! It also mentions using table cloths or shower curtains, so it seems they could work! http://www.ehow.com/how_5570469_make-own-outdoor-pillows.html

Girl, if I weren't so poor that iolite pendant would be mine immediately.

I love it. The wee diamond is an especially lovely detail!

OHMYGOD THISROCKSTHISROCKST HISROCKS!!!!!

I've been on this site for about 10* years now. I can safely say this is one of the most amazing, skillful, lovely things I've ever seen on here.

Reep's one of my favorite characters of all time. Smiley

*Heh, just realized the site's only about 7 years old. Ok, so I fail with guestimation. Let's just say it's been the better part of a decade.
