Holy hell, this is amazing. The attention to detail is topnotch. I was sufficiently impressed by the matchbox, and then I was like, "Oh cool, a ribcage" and then rational thought left me when I saw the finished product.  I can only imagine your partner's reaction when she received.

I don't swap because I am self-aware of my flakiness when it comes to letter-writing/card-sending and know that I can't just give up after months of no contact and email a craft to my poor neglected partner. It's amazing projects like this that make me really regret that flaky side of me (more than annoyed siblings and a nagging mother ever could).

What an adorable idea! I wish I'd thought of it a few weeks ago...I had swept up a huge pile of debris from my yard and the neighborhood robins kept raiding it. I felt kinda bad that all my yard junk was getting picked up and deposited in my neighbors' eaves and gutters

So, I have this planter:

And I planted a bunch of pansies in it yesterday and put it on my porch and then immediately after planting them decided that it needed to be painted green. Of course.

Is there a way I can paint it and make it waterproof without killing my pansies? And without having to uproot and replant them?

I'm looking for tips on the exact same thing! My outdoor wooden swings were hand-made, therefore nothing seems to fit them (not to mention outdoor cushions are expensive and the local selection is pretty blah).

I was thinking about using either outdoor table cloths or shower curtains (not the plastic inner liner but the outer fabric kind). I just don't know how they'd hold up.
