1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / HELP: need ideas for boyfriend's xmas present on: December 04, 2006 10:15:44 AM
okay, so heres the deal. i've decided that guys are A LOT harder to buy for than girls.

think about it, guys never really want anything, or if they do they tend to already have it.

girls are so much easier cuz as long as its something cute or romantic or meaningful we'll like it. it doesn't even have to be expensive, meaning is what we like.

so here's the deal.

i need to figure out what i'm going to buy for the rest of my boyfriend's xmas present...  i've already bought him part of it but he already knows hes getting it since he picked it out..

he doesn't really do much that i can like, buy him stuff for.. know what i mean?

he's a big fan of video games and skateboarding and playing airsoft.
and my budget is -extremely- limited.
 Undecided

this is proving to be a lot more difficult than i thought it would me

any help at all would be appreciated, i guess i just need an idea to be like, ooo that would work!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My 2nd Recon Renaissance Dress!!! (gold+burgandy) on: October 06, 2006 02:40:25 PM
Some of you may have seen my first renassiance dress post:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=119794.0

that dress was made for my little sister, and after i finished hers i figured i'd have enough time to make one for myself  Grin

First let me explain where the fabric came from
-black: from a short cocktail type-dress (awful 80's-ness, wish i had pics...) i basically just tore it apart to use the fabric, no shape was really retained, in fact the top hem of the dress i made -was- the bottom hem of the former dress.
-burgandy: a thrifted burgandy brides maid's dress, was formerly strapless and acutally quite pretty, but alas, it had to be incorporated into this dress (it was 2 sizes too big for me anywho ^^)
-Gold/white: fabric i bought at the upholsterly section of joann's on sale for cheap.
-Trim: also from joann's
-Buttons: joann's(can you tell thats where i get my stuff?) they're decorational only, theres a zipper on the right side.

yeayeayea, booring stuff. now, here's THE DRESS!

it looks better on my dressform... lol.  i can take more pictures if i get enough requests for more.. ^^

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Patchwork Jean Skirt on: August 08, 2006 11:19:33 AM
yes. so this all began when one of my favorite pairs of jeans grew a hole.  idk about anyone else but my jeans tend to wear in the crotch/inner thigh area before anywhere else.  so eventually they grew a hole that simply forced me to retire them.  i had a patchwork jean skirt when i was little, so i figured i'd make another one.  heeere it is:

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Blue and black shirt, simple recon. on: July 04, 2006 08:37:34 PM

and the black one which i -loved-, all the studdy-thingies started becoming un-shiney. idk what happened or what i did. but it turned ugly.

and this is a close up of the beatles shirt. you should be able to see what happened.

First of all, thank you to stencilry for the emu stencil.  simply awesome.  i put it on a word doc and then put the words underneath.  it hadn't dried yet, thats why it may look kinda shiney.  i was too impatient to wait to take pics Grin
