1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: January Jamboree! - IYP5 Gallery on: February 24, 2007 10:33:38 AM
Next up, from KittyKurl (both my partners deserved their own post, I thought).

Gorgeous music-themed notecards. I wish the picture quality was higher so you could see the Victorian/Art Nouveau images better, but trust me, they're lovely.

These fantastic vinyl coasters, based on ones in my wists. The hand-painting is beautiful.

A totally adorable wall painting/hot pad. Gnome Sweet Gnome. Heh.

And if that weren't enough:

This great little zippered pouch. The top fabric is cotton and very vintage-y and the bottom is corduroy. It's perfect for me and I love it.

Thanks very much, KittyKurl, for being such a terrific and thoughtful swap partner!

Sorry it's taken me forever to post these-- I got two fabulous packages from my two fabulous partners, chloeiscrazy and KittyKurl, and then got sick for basically this entire month.  Don't take my slowness as a reflection on their gorgeous work!

First, from chloeiscrazy:

three adorable sewn headbands!

freezer paper, fabric paint, sponges and stamps to do my own t-shirts!

assorted ATC goodies!

more ATC goodies!

findings, doo-dads, hoo-has...

adorable felt beads...

and last, but certainly not least, the most awesome sushi fabric ever!

thanks so much, chloeiscrazy-- I can't wait to use all my great new stuff!
3  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: January Jamboree! (Invite your Partner Round 5) SIGN-UPS CLOSE 12/14!! on: January 09, 2007 03:33:52 PM
E-mails large quantities of crafting mojo to cotneyroo and aliastriona_angerbo da

"You've got mail" (i love that movie)

thanks, Dulci!  Kiss

three down for each partner... I'm thinking one more tiny thing for each and then off to the P.O. with the lot. They're both going to Canada (I'm in NYC) so even though send-outs are a few days off yet I'd like to give the packages a head start.   Cheesy

I'm in much, much better shape for both my swap packages than I was on my last check-in here. It's been a productive weekend.  Cheesy  Three things done (one medium, two small) for Chloeiscrazy, and two-and-a-half things done for KittyKurl.

...unfortunately I'm more pleased with my progress and my completion rate than with the quality... seem to have lost my crafting mojo for the moment. Anyone have a little extra I could borrow for a few days?

Hi Everyone,
Are you guys still meeting up for some crafty nights or weekends?  If so, I'd love to join!  Grin

We'd love to have you!

Sounds like we have a lot of new people interested in a get-together. Can we take a poll again of where & when is most convenient for most people?   Now that the holiday madness is over, I am all for trying again with the craftster meet-ups.

I am flying to New York Wednesday morning and back Thursday night.

charliebrown, PM me if you think you'll need a craft store fix while you're here!  Cheesy

I am delighted with my partners' and my collective decisions to do a smaller-scale swap this time. I've already finished the largest item I'm doing for KittyKurl and am halfway through the biggest thing for chloeiscrazy as well. Yay medium-sized items!

Good thing too, as I apparently blocked out just how busy work is for me in January. I'll be spending a lot more evenings daydreaming about knitting for the next few weeks, rather than actually doing any...

Hi everybody! I'm back from the holiday travels (and a looooong craftster break while I cranked out xmas presents for both sides of the fam-- I worked on basically nothing else from Halloween on) and ready to get started at last. So those of you who feel like you're way behind, if you've started, you're one up on me...

but thankfully, both Chloeiscrazy and KittyKurl were awesome and agreed to do a slightly smaller swap this time, to compensate for my post-Christmas crafting fatigue.

Happy New Year!

Sorry to have missed everyone yesterday! The boy is sick with that nasty cold that's going around the city and I rushed home to take care of him.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for the next go-round. And I, for one, would be up for a weekend meet-up at some point as well, if people would like to do that.

I can't make it this week, but definitely next time!

Me too-- swamped and exhausted getting ready for the holiday. Looking forward to two weeks from today. EmilyFlew, is the cardi in your new avatar related to the argyle piece you were working on last time? Too cute!
