1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / No thanks, I brought my own bags on: March 04, 2008 11:08:21 AM
I finally got around to making my shopping bags!  These were made by mostly following queenofdiy's tutorial.

I made the blue superhero bag first, using a regular plastic bag as the template.  It's not as big, the stitches aren't as pretty but I did include the fold-in pocket so it carries around really easy.  Since this was to be the boyfriend's bag, it's didn't have to be pretty, just functional.  With the pink bags I regrouped and made some changes, making a sturdy template from a cereal box using the roomier target plastic bag.  After cutting out everything, I assembly-lined the shopping bags.  These don't have the pocket, since I used the extra fabric to make another bag instead.

I've taken them out to the grocery store twice now, and they can hold quite a lot.  Even with the heavy loads, they hold up well and don't cut into my fingers!  Even the boyfriend is a fan!

I love these, I think I need to find my perler beads and play!

I am in love with those pants!  Inspirational--I'm not that great with painting but I have lots of friends who are!  Let us know how they hold up with wear and wash?

This is just too cool.  It reminds me of a tabard ( I think that's what it's called).  While it looks so simple to try and wing it, I'm a bit new on making clothes.  So I think I will have to look for a pattern...thanks for the list of the different versions!

Love love love it!

Your chair looks so posh now!  I ripped a hole in the leather of my computer chair...perhaps a reuphostering is in order.

Those glasses are so great! I can't believe I remember that little guy.

Actually, I beleive that Project Jay was only a one hour special.  Bravo's calling it a documentary, not a show.

Just joining the chorus here...beautiful dress!  I love the painted chiffon idea, very nice results.

(Sorry about the long links...I didn't know how else to do it.)
I'm really impressed with Kara and Santino's collections.  Who do you think is the decoy?
