1  Sunglasses case in Knitting: Completed Projects by sistersarah on: August 03, 2007 09:17:27 AM
sometimes you just want to knit something quick, especially if you don't have time to knit much. While waiting for my friend to arrive tonight, I whipped up this little sunglasses pouch and lined it (the bus is taking super long!). Nothing special, but a cute little thing to protect my shades. I couldn't get a good pic of the lining because it's too dark now.

Thanks for looking!

2  Cable Cotton Bag in Knitting: Completed Projects by sistersarah on: July 17, 2007 05:13:58 AM
Here is a quick little bag I knit up. With everything I make I learn something new.....my lining doesn't have enough give for the bag, since the bag is pretty flexible. ah well, it's cute and suitable for summer. The strap is simple i cord.

excuse the pj's.....not too classy

4  ideas please?? (yarn pics inside) in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by sistersarah on: July 04, 2007 06:25:09 AM
I got this yarn in Turkey because I was there and it was dirt cheap. The first is a bright turquoise 10% wool 10% mohair 80% acrylic stuff. I have 5 100g balls.

The next is 100% bamboo. I was kind of excited to get this bamboo yarn for so cheap because I heard it's pretty expensive at home. I have 5 100g balls.

any ideas?

longelegant legs: no, nothing in particular. just saw something that i didn't before. i also searched for crochet on youtube and got some helpful vids.

yelley: heh heh, well, here in korea it's super hot and humid and toto is a long haired cat. she gets really uncomfortable in the heat, so i had her shaved. i got the idea from my friends who own persians and they get them shaved in the summer. she had a lot of matted hair, too, so that's off. while she looks kind of ugly now, she's a lot happier and more active and it'll grow back in no time!

thanks for the nice comments. i'm super pumped about finally "getting" crochet!

oh, here's a picture of toto with her long hair, so you can see how pretty she usually is!:

6  First crocheted project in Crochet: Completed Projects by sistersarah on: June 26, 2007 06:57:21 PM
I'm a knitter and I just couldn't seem to understand crocheting....until the other night. then I couldn't put it down. Here is a shawl i made....it's something i probably won't wear, but it was perfect to practice the different stitches. my cat likes it, anyway.

It's been claimed by my shaved kitty:

7  Re: picking up stitches -- tips please! in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by sistersarah on: April 19, 2007 07:21:21 AM
Thanks to everyone who posted to try to help me pick up those damn stitches!

the sweater is done. I posted it in the FO forum.

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=165055.0

I guess it's not too bad for a first sweater, but the collar is crooked, which bugs me. I think it's my fault for not marking where i would pick up stitches. i should have planned more instead of being impatient. here's a closeup of the collar and you can see how weird it looks.

8  First Sweater (A baby one) in Knitting: Completed Projects by sistersarah on: April 19, 2007 06:25:37 AM
I thought knitting a sweater on a small scale would be best to start. It's this pattern minus the pockets, although I may still put them in. My collar sucks.
