1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bright Pink cowl neck on: August 28, 2007 06:30:57 PM
Hi crafster world! *waves* I haven't posted anything in way too long, and I've been on a bit of a reconstruction bing lately (summer reading ... sewing ... hmmm ... ). Anyways, I made this top tonight in about an hour from an old striped, long sleeve shirt and a hot pink t-shirt. After adding the pink cowl neck, I realized I had a maroon shirt that would've looked a lot better, but oh well.

(with maroon sash)

I'd love some feedback! And make sure to check out my blog Smiley
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Sapphire Silk-y Dress on: July 07, 2007 07:10:47 PM
Inspired by this (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=180032.0) tutorial, I went out and bought myself some cheapish dark blue silk imitation fabric during Joann's latest sale.

The fabric itself was a pain, being 100% polyester (oh so hot!) and stringy. I don't know how to combat the unraveling on the inside...I would love some potential solutions.

Also, the arm holes are awkard.. they don't allow me to raise my arms without raising the whole dress. Other than that, I'm loving it Smiley

Comments and advice are always helpful!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Music Note Wristlet on: April 02, 2007 05:47:01 PM
I made this one for the crafty detective swap using this (http://blissbyheather.blogspot.com/2007/01/tutorial-super-cute-wristlet.html) tutorial I found online.

It was super easy and I love its simplicity. (Plus, it's the first zippered item I've made that I have been satisfied with!)

Thanks for looking  Kiss
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Hook Roll-Up on: February 26, 2007 11:20:34 AM
I made this a few months ago for a swap, and never got the chance to post it up here! I'm not sure what category it'd fall under, so Misc. works Smiley

All rolled up.

With the flap (hook protector) down.

It was my first, and I made it using the rough pattern from the book, "The Crafter's Companion."

Comments/criticism?  Grin

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / "No Hair Day" Chemo Cap! on: February 23, 2007 03:18:28 PM
My cousin was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, and I wanted to do something crafty to help her cope. Snowwhitesuicide reccomended this (http://www.headhuggers.org/patterns/kpatt10.htm) pattern for me over on the "Cancer Care Package" thread. It is the first hat I've ever knitted, and I'm very pleased. It's meant to look like hair, in case she loses her hair during chemo (she hasn't yet!), and is a fun alternative.

I wore my hair in a bun while modeling this, so you can get the full effect. Smiley

I'll be sending it out to her first thing tomorrow morning.
6  COOKING / Dessert / Homemade Marshmallows on: February 14, 2007 11:02:54 AM
I found this yummy recipe through Not Martha blog, and on the Brownie Points' food blog. http://www.browniepointsblog.com/2007/01/08/chocolate-marshmallows/ I highly reccomend this recipe to all those chocolate/vanilla marshmallow lovers out there!

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / "Mimi" Altered Tee on: February 14, 2007 10:56:28 AM
Pattern taken from the book "99 ways to Cute, Sew, Trim, & Tie Your T-Shirt Into Something Special." This style is called the "Mimi" and is for a "French couture look." It was very simple to create, and I decided to use an old Yale Bulldogs tee. Here's the finished product:

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Flickr Images on: January 25, 2007 11:28:03 AM
Is there a way to find out the URL address for photos you upload on Flickr, so you can post them throughout your blog entry where you want, instead of just one per blog entry (like they offer) Huh
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Cancer Care Package on: January 24, 2007 05:15:44 PM
Hello thoughtful and creative craftsters,

My cousin was just diagnosed last week with colon cancer. The real catch though: she's only 24.

I'm going to visit her hopefully in a week or so, and I was wanting to put together a care package for her.

I was thinking a chemotherapy hat (although my knitting skills aren't that great...I only really know how to knit and purl and decrease), an inspirational book or two, and then that's where I get stuck.

Has anyone ever put together a similar package for a loved one, and if so, what have you included?

Thanks for any ides  Smiley
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / "Give me all your stuff!" Swap! on: January 23, 2007 12:33:39 PM
I was thinking the other day how to get rid of craft supplies that have nothing wrong with them, but that I just don't want anymore and I was thinking...why not a "give me all your stuff!" swap where everyone swapped unneeded/unwanted craft supplies with each other!

It'd be a pretty quick swap, because all you really need to do is search through your supplies and pick things out to mail off.
