oh boy do i hear you! i *used* to sell beautiful spirit dolls that were pretty unique others have said. lots of old jewlery pieced together, and the dolls were wired, so they could be posed. well, fibro took care of that! it has been very sad for me to slowly give that up! i still have a couple more to work on for some VERY patient friends of mine.
after giving up that business, i worked on some machine sewing; baby clothes, some tag blankets with extra play things attached, mini wall hangings with beads and yarn and old jewlery mixed in, as a sort of mixed media collage type thing. the wall hangings are great fun for me. they are a small size, so the creative process is from the get-go, instead of doll body first, and then the creative hair and clothing. and it can be maching sewn or, if i am ambitious, hand sewn.
i also dabble in jewlery making, but i have just now finished my first commision for a reapholstery project. now that was fun, but not as creative. but working on a pattern for the piece was neat.
so, i'm sure that didnt help one bit, but it was nice to share my experience with someone who understands the pain!
good luck with your seach! i know art therapy is very important for us!
