1  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Container Gardens on: May 11, 2005 03:43:38 PM
I live in an apartment with a fair size deck that faces West, it gets pretty warm.  I would like to plant a couple container gardens with some lettuce , spinach, green onions, I would love carrots but I'm not sure if they will work.

Anyone ever try this?  Do you have any tips on the best container (I was thinking Rubbermaid-type), best type of Veggies??
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Hindi birthday celebration on: April 20, 2005 01:58:52 PM
OK my friend is celebrating her 40th birthday with a Hindi prayer ceremony then a lunch of East Indian cuisine (yummy).  I would love to make her something appropriate but this little french (raised Christian) girl hasn't got a clue.  Anyone have any ideas of what I can make her?  Clothes wouldn't work.  Her house has alot of ornaments and deco from India.
Help!
3  CANADA / Saskatchewan / Alternative craft sale in Saskatoon?? on: February 08, 2005 08:16:18 AM
I'm doing some serious thinking about an alternative craft sale in Saskatoon.  My crafts don't really have a spot at the WDM and all the one's at Christmas are at least $100 a table (not to mention at Christmas).  I thought this would be a good time to do it.

I make bracelets, handbags keychains etc... stuff that might go over at a University town, it's just that not many students go to the grandma craft sale.
I was just wondering if anyone would be interested, let me know and maybe we can do something in the Spring...
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / The Grandpa bag (w/ bigger pics!) on: November 09, 2004 08:29:50 AM
I made this out of an old suit jacket of my Grandpas.  His favorite color was the same as mine, so I did the lining orange!  It has a chapstick pocket and cell phone holder.  I used the Jordy pattern.  I made it bigger and sewed seams down the side to make the gussets and added a flap.  It is my favoritest bag ever and a cool tribute to my grandpa.

Oh and here is my logo

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Need a crafty wedding gift idea ASAP on: September 08, 2004 10:25:34 AM
My friend is getting married, 2nd marriage for both, they are in their 40's, they have lived together of many years, they like camping (they have a cabin) and are in a dinner club which takes turns eating/making dinner at each others houses.  They make wine but have a hundred glasses.  I can etch, sew, bead, etc.. All I can come up with are wine glass charms and I would like to fill a basket.  Oh and the wedding is Sept. 25/04. Have I mentioned that I'm the queen of procrastination?

Any suggestions would be grateful.

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Let's hit the beach..bag on: June 20, 2004 10:10:57 AM
My lastest edition.  I used a interfacing called craftfuse and it works wonders.  It's nice and heavy and gives bags a great form (also iron on)

Oh I got the material at WalMart for $1.95/m in the clearance bin.
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Painting my little wagon on: June 10, 2004 02:36:50 PM
I bought a Little Tykes wagon at a Garage sale for $5 for my neice.  It's red and white and I would like to painted it pink.  What kind of paint should I use?  I was thinking acrylic with a couple coats of sealer...any ideas??

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My "go" at a bag on: May 20, 2004 08:34:29 AM
Well here is a couple of pictures of my mom's Mother's day present (better late than never!).  I basically used the messanger bag directions but I added some stuff.

I work at an aviation company where we have an upholstry dept and the guy gave me a piece of what he called Landsdown foam.  It's the kind of foam that the craft shapes are made of just a mm thicker.  I cut it about a quarter of an inch smaller (all around) than the back of the bag and sewed it on before I did the lining, I also did a piece on the bottom.  I makes it alot sturdier!

I love this site!! (sighs euphorically)
