1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Big and Beautiful Plus Size Swap (Sign Up 5/11 - 5/20 Send Out 6/13) on: May 13, 2011 11:47:42 AM
I REALLY want to do this swap, but I'm a novice sew'er and have NO experience with patterns (not to mention that the hand me down sewing machine I had was taken for repairs and still isn't working)... I could make something felted, some simple jewelery, or something crocheted... will have to think on this one a bit!!

I'm really glad you lilked the goodies BSONLYTOOTS! I was really worried! I had some issues with blocking the bowls (as I'm sure you can see) but if you throw them in the washer again then dry them how you want them (stretched or as is) they should sit better. I wanted to let them air dry, but we don't have a machine and by the time I want to a friends to felt them (on 2 different days) they wouldn't have been dry enough to send (since they are pretty dense wool and it has been super rainy here lately).
I'm really not psychic, you just left great notes on your color preferences on your wists! If the roll is difficult to remove from the cozy, you can pull out the center cardboard and make it a 'center pull roll' then the kids won't have to take it out at all.
It's cool that you figured out who I was from my clues, but it wasn't till close to the end! I thought you probably knew it was me (from your post) but of course I couldn't ruin the final bit of suspense for you!
Enjoy your goodies! (and of course you don't have to share your bracelets!)

I am still crafting away but will send on time. I had some things all planned out but they were taking FOREVER! I needed to go to my parents house to work on something else (for a friend) so I decided to add something completely different for my partner! Wink Since I finished 2 spur of the moment projects yesterday, I just have to finish up the ones I have in progress and I will be able to pack it all up and get it out! I hope my stalkee likes what I came up with! Smiley_ I'm pretty sure she will since everything is basically right off her wists!

Hints:
My "April Fools" hints were opposites
You have a pet but I did not make anything for it
one of the items I made (from your wists) is related to someplace you like to visit
Most of the other items I made (also from your wists) will be used inside your home

I received from Teffy!
first up is the journal she hand bound. It has nice thick pages that I can paint on (or more likely collage on) I need to get into journaling more, so I needed it!

next is a group picture of the covered crochet hook (with a dragon tail!) and 2 friendship bracelets.  I am so happy that I have a bracelet to wear that won't cause a skin reaction!

last (but not least) are the tons of extras that she included!

from L to R: A crafters companion book, coca body butter, stickers for my son, a nice jingly hipscarf (should get me back to practicing my belly dancing!), a great pattern that includes skirt, dress, pants and a jacket!! and it will fit me!! A yummy car scent, that I LOVE (you are right is smells AWESOME!), And tinkerbell goodies (a scarf, 2 light up pens, and a book mark!)
Thank You TEFFY!

OK so that was weird! Half of my post disappeared!
The duckies are cute, but they are messing with my head! I'm a very visual person and it throws me for a loop when 1 person in a swap changes their pic much less when there are duplicates and EVERYONES' changes!!
I haven't finished anything for my partner yet, but I have parts of the Large and Smalls done. I really do have a good start on them! I also have extras already. (I bought some supplies specifically for the med, but changed my mind on technique so I will send them along for my partner to use!) I plan of crafting like crazy this weekend! No major plans except watching a church conference broadcast on the web, and I concentrate better when my hands are busy anyway!!

I guess I really should leave some hints: (since it's April Fool's day, I'll really be confusing and make all these opposites!!! ~ at least I'm telling you ahead of time!!)
You live north of me, and in the same time zone
you are older than me
you have fewer children living with you than I do
you joined craftster before I did

THANK YOU PEPPER ROSE!!!!
I'm finally home long enough to post pics of the great STUFFED flat rate envelope that Pepper Rose prepared for me!
First up, a group shot of everything!

since I know you can't see any details of the cool stuff she sent:
gobs of scrapbook and paper crafting goodies! I love the postage stamps, and clear stamps especially, but it is all wonderful!

Here is the bead/sewing category. It's all great, but check out the detail shot below for some of my absolute favorites (I couldn't get a clear picture of them to save my life!)

This last close up has my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE  items of the entire package!!! How did you know that I needed a way to display slips with show dates for my Pampered Chef parties? I've already done 1 show and used the stand and the cute curly paper clips! I didn't get nay bookings, but the display looked cute!

Thank you again Peper Rose! You must have done some stalking to know that the jacket pattern will fit me and that I LOVE bags! My mom calls me 'the bag lady' for a good reason and I can't wait to make one myself!

I have been SUPER busy the past couple of days, but I will take pics in the morning and post them!
I had my 1st PamperedChef party last night and 2 of your items were used for it!

WOW only 4 questions to catch up on! I'll have to think about some more hints for my stalkee.

40. If you were to receive something in a frame, any preferences about the frame?(S is for Summer-Pg.128)
no real preference, just something to match the style of what is in it.

41. Do you like beachy things? like shells and stuff?(leashh-Pg.129)
beachy is ok. (my mom REALLY loves it) but I generally prefer forest/woodsy stuff

42. How do you feel about dinosaurs?(leashh-Pg.129)
They are ok but I don't especially like them. Except Pteradatyls... due to a funny inside joke about the new baby they are pretty cool!

43. If I were to make you something that you'd specified you wanted, and did it to the best of my ability - but to do it I had to learn a new craft - so it's not as good as an expert could do it - would you like it - or would you prefer me not to bother?(Feline2001-Pg.131)
I would feel honored if you tried a new craft to make me something I would like, but I don't want you to feel like you NEED to to please me! Enjoy the crafting experience and don't stress over me too much!

Sorry I haven't kept up on questions recently! I've been a bit distracted by my best friend's new baby.  Between midnight trips to the hospital (the momma had an infection) and just generally trying to help out with the overwhelming needs of a newborn, a 3 yr old and an 11 yr old with ADHD and a preteen attitude!
The good news is that my large and small projects are very portable, and they travel with me in my car all the time! I have actually had a fair amount of time to work on them! I have 1 part of the large completed, and 1 part of the small, but now that they are started it shouldn't take as long to finish them up. My friend even asked me last night "You didn't bring your little bag of tricks this time?" I assured her that they were just out in the car and I could grab them at a moment's notice if I needed to keep my hands busy (usually while she is feeding the baby)!

I got s great envelope STUFFED with goodies from Dyani a few days ago. Sorry it took so long to post pice, my best friend had her baby the other day and I have been super busy trying to help her out!

Pic of all the goodies!! Some AWESOME fabric... some of it was made from her boyfriends artwork! LOVE it! Even my 17 yr old step son saw it and said "that's cool, what are you going to make out if it (I might have to figure out something to make for him... small pillow maybe)!  Post cards from old movies, some sewing goodies, various papercrafting goodies, vintage ephemera, a mousie pattern, and last but not least... a pretty black flower pin and TWO, YES TWO!!! stets of wool roving and soap for felting!!

Here is a closer shot of the sweet fabric! I accidentally cut off the green patterned one, but I wanted to be sure you could really see the 2 with women on them!
Thank you very much Dyani! I can't wait to finish the swap I'm working on so I can play with some of the goodies you sent! Smiley
