1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Mario 1-Up blanket on: November 09, 2006 08:34:02 PM
I made this for my boyfriend for Christmas. Its not perfect, but not too bad considering its the 3rd thing I've ever sewn.

Thanks to all you wonderful craftsters, without you all I would have no ideas.  Grin

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Lining up squares/seams? on: September 21, 2006 11:07:55 AM
I'm working on a quilt that when finished will look like the Super Mario 1-up mushroom. Smiley Everything is going fairly well, aside from the fact that my squares dont match up perfectly. I have seams that are just slightly off going down rows. (I hope that makes sense!)

Does anyone have tips for keeping everything perfect?

And perhaps I shouldn't have taken on such an undertaking for the 2nd thing I've ever sewn? lol
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My first blanket on: July 02, 2006 09:48:18 AM
Its quite simple, but its the first thing I've ever sewn from scratch, so I'm pretty proud. Smiley (I also hope I did this posting right.)

4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Decent sewing machine on: February 05, 2006 08:45:05 AM
I hope this is the right spot, but I wanted to share. I've read some posts about people looking for good sewing machines, and when I was searching for one they were all so expensive. But, at Walmart, I found a Singer for less than a hundred dollars. It has 40 different stiches and is really nice. I already did a whole (extremely fuzzy) blanket with no problems at all.

Hope that helps someone. Smiley
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Idea help for a newbie! on: January 18, 2006 08:37:13 PM
My boyfriend's sister is getting married and I'd really like to make her something small and personalized. Now, I'm super new to anything crafty, but my idea was to take some black and white pics of her and her husband to be and decoupage them to a keepsake box with some other neat stuff.

Can I just go to Micheals or Jo-Anns and buy a box? Wood? Plastic? Metal? Can I just glue everything down and then mod podge over? Even ideas as what to add to the pictures would rule.

I'm completely lost and any feedback would be so much appreciated.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Smiley
