1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / "Who Me Deer?" Loomed Cuff! on: December 26, 2010 05:38:34 PM
It has been quite a while since I was able to share some of my bead looming, with everyone here! There have been many emails sen, from this forum, asking questions about bead looming, and my finishing techniques, that I thought I would share one of my latest cuffs!

The clasp is an adjustable style. I have been working on making loomed cuffs more adjustable for a while now!

I also used a very different style bead, for the edging, this time. These are large copper barrel beads. It is so cool they worked out, because now I think my 'edging' bead supply has grown to include larger beads! These barrel beads are big, so I decided to string a row of 11/0 glass beads inside of them so they do not separate while wearing!

The opposite side is just a simple row of Permanent Metallic 11/0 Glass beads!

I love making cuffs, but have been working with 2D patterns more. I'd also like to share this pattern here with everyone!

It would be great to also share some cool techniques to finish the loomed cuffs without much in the way of 'warp management'!

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Earrings, Earrings Everywhere! on: February 03, 2010 05:39:36 PM
I have been making earrings, for the past few weeks, and would love to share my 'evolution' of ideas, from this time. There are many completed, so let me start with these first! Actually, I am waiting for some particular bead colors to arrive so I can start my next foray, so 'earrings' are keeping me amuzed  Grin

Wooo, I think I could go one, but I'll give you all a break! LOL!
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Satin Beaded Tube Earrings on: September 29, 2009 12:22:57 PM
Making so many earrings for this weedend's festival, I find things I want to share!
I think Mihana made something using the 'Delica Line of Satin Beads'. They are my absolute favorites, but extremely fragile. Here is a pair of earrings I just made. Peach Satin and Peach Silver Lined.

I realize I have been sharing alot lately, but I have a lot going on! lol I may also share some of the Christmas Earring I made!!!.....well, maybe!  Wink
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Harvest for this Weekend! on: September 28, 2009 10:34:27 AM
I am working realy hard and fast to complete the stock I am offering for this weekend's Art Festival.

My last post I was showing some green tubes and Mihana mentioned 'green apples' and the season. Thanks for the idea!!!  Grin

movin', movin', movin'..... Cheesy
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Steampunk Bead Tubes???? on: September 28, 2009 09:06:00 AM

As with any forum, sharing your work opens up more ideas and suggestions that can only broaden your creativety. Here is a result of what I acquired from this forum.

Mentioning that the pink bead tubes with a sterling spiral resembled 'Steampunk', I thought I would challenge myself! Remember, I am a "Loomer" and in no way would create a line of 'Steampunk' items, so this too may be a bit short of the idea. I also left out the spiral, just give offer another way of seeing these!

I photographed them on the earring stands I make, but also am working on stock for the art festival this upcoming weekend! My need to 'produce-produce-produce' was another reason I whipped these up!

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Bead Tubes and Wire Wrap Earrings on: September 27, 2009 07:01:25 PM
I was just talking about these earrings, with some other people, and decided to show them here. I know that there are many seed beaders and I have seen some gorgeous wire work. I am not a wire wrapper, but this idea was generated more out of 'want' then knowing what I am doing!  Grin

I think this idea may be just as good if the twisting wire was not 'wrapped'!

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / 'Moonlight Rivoli Sheild Ring' on: September 20, 2009 06:14:29 PM
While getting alot of stock together for this upcoming Art Festival I am showing/selling, I wanted to include more rings then I have in the past. The 'finger ring' is a big hit, but unfortunately it must be specifically sized to finger measurements. I decided to make something similar in size, but more universal.

It covers a good part of the lower finger knuckle, but can be turned to hang further of the hand. This is a Moonlight Rivoli, which has a bit more depth of color then a 'crystal'.
I also used Permanent Silver Beads to make it look like a 'sterling silver' ring. From a distance, it really does look like one!

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / MJ...working on 'Festival Stock' on: August 11, 2009 03:42:17 PM
Mihana and I have been talking and sharing some wonderful beading chat...I love her cuffs, and I guess she can tell, I too am a 'wide beaded cuff lover'! In one of our recent talks, I promised I would share this latest cuff, just finished (looming about 2-3 a week, right now  Roll Eyes), with her. Then I thought how I never put any of my work here on this forum, but love to visit and see other's beading for inspiration.

Here is a cuff I decided to make, along with all the others I am making to show/sell at the one and only Art Festival I apply each year, in October. My daughter suggested MJ, so I graphed one out and beaded this.

As with all my beading, I like to include a 'splash' or more of 3D. I decided his 'infamous' strands of hair would be perfect! These are strung 3mm Jet Black Swarovski Crystals and some Opague Black Delicas to make the thinnest portions of each strand.

Every cuff I create, I lay out a pallete of Delicas, and paint the picture on my loom, selecting the beads that I think will be best recreating the colors in the picture I use. I have been doing this style of looming for so long, that I am getting better at selecting the right color beads but still find my mistakes using 'matte next to AB's'!

Mihana, it is wonderful sharing info with you, especially during this 'rush' time for me!!!

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / LOOMING on: January 14, 2006 03:18:12 PM
Hello everyone! I have noticed this forum through some search and the fact I have noticed additional views on my web site. I am 'strictly' a loomer. It seems this is not a process widely considered by many wonderful bead artists. I would like to share my work and hope to offer some inspiration, not to mention, find others who love to loom and can share!
