I worked this little hat up for my son the other day.  It's knit flat using short rows in super bulky yarn.  It's super fast and easy.  The pattern's available here.   Let me know what you think.

I made this over the weekend.



It's from Simple Sewing by Lotta Jansdotter; a wonderful book I really recommend.  I only want to make every project in it.  I modified the pattern ever so slightly; I made the interior pocket much bigger and made the straps long enough to put over my shoulder.  I also added a light weight interfacing to give it more structure.  I love the way it came out and may be making them for Christmas presents.

I made a sewing machine cover and used a pattern from the Sublime Stitching book to embroider the bottom edge.

I'm incredibly pleased with it. It's from Vogue pattern 7460, which I've had so long I'm not sure it's still in print., and a couple of really great Kaffe Fassett prints.

18 months is old enough to carry their own stuff, right?  I made this little backpack for my son to carry a diaper,wipes and a sippy cup on short trips to the park or store.  It's just the right size.

Mine is to complete projects before starting the next one.  This means finishing both socks or mittens in a pair and all seaming before casting on for my next project.  New yarn will not tempt me!

Does anyone else have a New Year's knitting resolution?

I started this before my son was born and with his first birthday fast approthing I thought it was time to get my butt in gear and finish.  So here is is one finished flower basket shawl.



This was my first lace knitting project and I realize now that the yarn was too busy for the pattern but I love it anyway.
