hello craftster community, long time no post! anyway, for my school this year, we're going to Paris. I was wondering: a) any "must-check-out" places you all could recommend? i know we're going to have down time so i'm hoping to compile a little list of awesome shops, cafes, restaurants, and vintage stores to go to. suggestions? anything retro, edgy, or music-related (or crafty of course!) and i'm totally there. b) would anyone in Paris care to potentially meet up? as i said, there's going to be extreme down time, but it's kinda tentative, but i thought i would ask regardless. what better way to see Paris than by a parisian craftster?
hello all, i haven't swapped in FOREVER and it just occured to me that i really miss doing it. so is anyone up for a paper swap? can be applied to scrapbooking paper, really unique wrapping paper, or even nice stationary. anyone else in? -funkyolive
hey everyone, i'm going to be visiting Australia with the People to People student ambassador program this summer. tuition, however, is rather hefty. anyone have any suggestions of crafty/indie businesses that would be willing to donate some of their wares for me to sell to help the cause? thanks, everyone! -funkyolive
hi all! been a long time since i've posted a project... this was a HUGE, long-sleeved shirt my dad brought me back from Japan. apparently they put random english words on shirts, not unlike how we get random japanese symbols tattooed on us without knowing their meaning... so i thought that was pretty cool so i reconned this shirt into a cute strapless shirt dress to wear over jeans! yay!
how about a swap where you would make an unusual/alternative christmas stocking, i.e. converse, gogo boot, etc? i think we could get really creative with this! ( i've never organized before so if anyone would like to organize this, you're more than welcome...) funkyolive!
hi all, i started thinking about costumes a while back, and was considering making a Japanese Street Fashion costume. However, what i didn't know, was that i was going to be invited to a halloween party (costumes necessary) on october 15. so, now all i have is a vague idea that no one will understand anyway... and about two weeks to get it done. i have tons of scans picked out, but i really need ideas! can anybody help me? thanks! -funkyolive
ok, yes, not truly gift ideas, but it seemed like that kind of thing. I'm going to be working with kids in grades 4 and 5 in an afterschool daycare-type thing. any ideas what cool alternative crafts would be fun, inexpensive, and not too complicated for them? thanks! -funkyolive
my swap partner received, so i thought i'd start the gallery. well, the monster i made has moveable eyebrows. there are several pics of ideas on how to position them. lets see some more monsters! -funkyolive EDIT: eh, i changed my mind. the pics are here so i can give descriptions.
i don't think i could organize this, but i had an idea for an urban art swap. i could be stuff decorated with graffitti-inspired art, or we could swap stenciled stickers for putting up around our city... anything urban-esque. does it sound like a good idea? -funkyolive
