31  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: 4x6 Art Swap (sign ups: March2-March8,2012; sendouts April6 2012) on: March 04, 2012 10:47:38 PM
Hmm, it's been nearly 5 years since I was in a swap (holy crap, where does the time go?), but this sounds intriguing...I'll be coming back to reread this once I've had some sleep and my brain isn't total mush.

I'm calling mine a bust. Between the frustration of accidentally destroying the barcode, and the nerve damage in my hand acting up for weeks, I'm not gonna get it done. I'll just have to look forward to seeing lots of gorgeous pages from y'all Wink

Thanks for the compliments Smiley

What kind of fiber is it? It looks very squishy too.

Whatever sort of wool was in the bag of black & white mill end rovings I got from the Sheep Shed Studio a couple years ago. It's super soft and smushy, I love it.

Y'all make me feel so amateurish.

Awesome! My internet connection is totally useless right now, I couldn't do anything more than some cursory research.

...but I remember reading something about your book being left out if the barcode has been damaged or removed.

And that is my exact fear. Putting time and creativity and money into this and then possibly being left out of the project because I have weird body chemistry that makes the oil on my skin kinda corrosive would really suck. Their site says:

An altered or unreadable label means we have to disqualify you from the tour.

So do I just give up now? Focus my time and energy on my eight million other projects, because I've already flunked out of this one?

And so I'm not just whining...fun with acrylic paint! More anatomical stuff paired with obnoxiously bright colors, it's becoming a thing.

Oh, the stupid barcode sticker is the bane of my artsy existence right now. I've managed to keep all the paint and everything off it, but apparently the oils from my fingers are messing with the ink as I hold it. The last centimeter or so of the lines is getting kinda obliterated, argh.

That's a gorgeous shot, nero_fiore! I particularly like the rainbow reflection in the fork.
