1  Collage Clutch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by bloodyraven on: April 03, 2009 11:58:00 AM
I made a clutch purse out of collaged magazine pictures, a page protector, and some Velcro.

I used a tutorial from cutoutandkeep.com

I had a lot of fun making it, and I'll probably make another one.

What do you think?

2  Yoga Pants from T-shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by bloodyraven on: April 03, 2009 11:49:45 AM
I made some yoga pants from a big t-shirt I got for volunteering at school.

I used this tutorial:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=299282.msg3413328#msg3413328

I made the waistband out of the sleeves, and made it just one layer (no drawstring) - I also made it wider in the back to account for the fact that the back of me isn't shaped like the front Wink

3  Re: FIBER FRIDAY! 1/5/07 in Spinning: Completed Projects by bloodyraven on: January 05, 2007 11:59:17 AM
Here are my offerings for this week:

Deep Water

I dyed some white and black wool mill ends as roving, and then spun two bobbins of singles.  I navajo-plied both bobbins (to keep the black seperate), for 2 skeins of 3-ply yarn.  I'm hoping that it will be mostly blue with a few black stripes when it's knit up.

Specifics:

Skein 1 - 2.0 oz/58 g
Skein 2 - 2.5 oz/73 g

100% wool, dyed with acid dyes
worsted-light bulky weight
spinning/plying: 5 h total

And another in progress:

Grey mill ends spun into a thin single.  I'm going to spin another bobbin of singles, and then make a 2-ply.  I don't know if I'm going to dye it or not.

This bobbin is 4.7 oz/133 g.  I find that I'm getting much better at keeping my spinning consistent, while going faster.  This bobbin took 2 h.

I notice that some of you post yardages with your skeins.  I have a scale, so the weight isn't hard to find, but how do you know the length?

5  Barbie Shoe and Pompom Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by bloodyraven on: January 29, 2005 05:56:17 PM
ETITED TO ADD:  I've got them up for sale now, here.

I've been making earrings for a while now, and if I'm going to continue, I need to start making some money from them. So, my question for everyone here is...How much would you pay for a pair of handmade earrings? They're not very high-class, more on the funky end of things. I was at first thinking $4 CAD, maybe $5 CAD, but others have said that I should aim higher, more like $15 CAD.

Here are a couple of pics. So far I've got two styles, pompoms and shoes, but I'm working on Starbursts and a couple others.

So what do you think?[/tt]
