1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Christmas Wedding Ideas on: August 25, 2007 09:00:14 PM
Old time candy carries Bobs, the candycane company, however they wont start distribution until the fall. It is just over 1.50 for a box of 12 of the 5 inch candycanes plus about $8 s/h.

For that price, I would take some of the money I saved and splurge on some of the custom printed ribbon to save myself a lot of time and hassle or use vista print's cheap business cards to make the cards (dont forget to pay the few bucks to take their ad off the back) to hang from solid ribbon as tags. For me, the few dollars that it would cost to have one of those two options done for me is a lot of time I can use on the more expensive projects.
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Condom Rose -with tutorial on: February 19, 2006 06:18:49 AM
Just made my first one ... giving a rose and my begged for chocolate fudge to my guy friends as belated valentines day presents. Of course the guy at the drug store was looking at me a little wierd as I closely examined the condom rack to find the red wrapped ones and walked away with 2 -12 pks ....LOL .... Trojan unlubed have red packs and Durex makes a "love" condom that actually has the word love on the package which is also red. ... only red ones I saw on the rack.

Well .... TalkAboutLush is doing a project for fashion design class with NYC metro cards so i know that any donations to that are welcome (See http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=78598.0)

Maybe Talk About Lush can use non NYC  to make trim or something...they are a different color ....

Donation to crafters is always a good thing ;-)
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Re: ANTS! why won't u leave my kitty's food alone? on: February 03, 2006 07:47:52 PM
Also double check the kitty, especially rubbing the backs of his legs where our calf would be and those bends he cant really reach. When I had the ant vs cat food problem, Asa was getting bitten by the ants as they tried to get there... he had so many bites on the backs of his heels and calf area that it formed huge welts. Luckily I was paying attention and when he started acting wierd took him to the vet. Discovered my cat is allergic to ants  Roll Eyes

i may have done mine the lazymans way out, but i just used a little sandpaper to rough up the surface so the paint would stick (i painted mine, then glassed over the top), and put the finger holes on the bottom so they dont show ....

Eggcrate matresses  .... if you can wait a bit scope around colleges during move out week, usually there is a lot of that stuff and other foam furniture... they will be a little beaten up but if you are just going to use it as filling who cares
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: can't paint? Try a ribbon wall! on: January 24, 2006 03:18:52 PM
I love this idea .... in all the different ways of getting it stick, has anyone tried the fabric walpapering method (starch paste) to get their ribbon wall to stick ? Ribbon is essentially little strips of fabric , right ?

If so, how does it work, is it too much of a PITA?
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: how would i craft sock/lingere organizers? on: January 24, 2006 03:07:56 PM
what about using some painted cardboard or that really thick cardstock that they use on spiral bound instruction manuals and using the slot method like they do in christmas ornament boxes?
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Record bowls, easiest gift ever! on: January 24, 2006 02:39:06 PM
we have talked about the toxic fumes of baking , and that they are not safe for food that wont be peeled or unwrapped .... so... now the question for me is if i use it as a planter FOR food, like herbs or vegetables, is it safe ?
