I knit this in about 5 different yarns, and kept going til i thought it was beautiful enough! Im not sure if I want to seam it into a poncho though...and I havnt attempted blocking it yet so it may stay put as a dreamy floaty art wrap

I can't seem to give up on ponchos just yet....this one is just a huge shell stich (like Lothruin's Free people shawl) in Homespun and using an **embarrassingly*** large hook.  Quite the ice breaker...I recommend it lol.



So do you think these would be marketable as is?  It's hard to make back costs when I personalise them much more. ie ribbons, beads...
 ps The colours are much prettier in person
 

Heya, don't know if anyone's posted this as I'm usually lurking in the knitting and crochet boards but this is the best idea for xmas and you can make believe you made them from scratch! Impress snotty family members!!
Take a kid's sweater or cardigan (i use kids' cause im wee and theyre cheaper at the sally ann) and rip apart the seam where the sleave joins the sweater.  you may need to tidy this up; use ribbon in a pretty colour....and you're done! instant legwarmers!
 I got the idea from seventeen magazine years ago but now legwarmers cost so much and its xmas i thought i'd post!

Heya thought I'd share an obscenely easy project...asymetric al ponchos!! (so fun to say) I used buky yarn and a P hook.  I made a chain till it went around me, allowing for some drape, and made a simple loop pattern (Row 1: ch3, sc, ch3, sk1, sc. Row2 and throughout: ch3, sc in ch3 loop, ch3, sc in ch3 loop). The trick was that i turned the work in the middle of rows.  It doesn't look like much at first but once it's on it's a nice alternative to most ponchos.  Sorry the first picture is kind of poo.

This one's just a collar...it reminds me of sea foam!

Quick and Flexable. You can do anything once you start thinking about custom work like this. Tell me what you think! 

I love that vegan fox, but the pattern is not really vegan (uses wool)... anyone have an idea for a good substitute?

Acrylic? Cotton? The usual suspects. I've not made the fox, but there's so much fluff on these things that what's underneath hardly matters. Mine was acrylic from the discount bin.

Yeah, I made my Vegan Fox with Acrylics and mystery eyelashes. maybe poly?  I held 3 yarns together and got a lovely fluffy result (but not as awesomely furry as Ted the Aligator!) I've made two; Colette, and Vern. This is vern.

Winter Solstice is coming and that means something special for us Canuck Girls...brrrr.
Solution:

I don't think I'm the only one with cold ummm extremities...so...
I used red heart's foxy (use any eyelash or fur yarn) and combined it with plain acrylic (wool would be too warm: we want cozy not sweaty).  cheap and easy
