Thank you everyone so much! I've been stupidly busy recently with the MA I am doing in Classics so I haven't had any time for illustration. Sad

I looked up tricksy dolls and they do totally look like that.

semicharm86:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-License-Giving-Yourself-Permission/dp/1401307922/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_2 This book. It's nice because it doesn't patronise and pretend that their aren't rules to drawing from observation but also makes you feel like you can let yourself off the hook for getting things wrong.

Thank you. I use illustrator for different things never thought to use it for proper drawing though. Thanks for the suggestions. xxx

I wanted to play around with some plastic eyes I bought so I broke out the doll fimo.

I have no idea what to do with her, especially as she is currently Just A Face!!!!! Which is a tiny bit scary! I was thinking of making her into an Alice in Wonderland Doll but I just think it will take forever to do all those limbs and torso and stuff!

I needed a banner for my geeky feminist blog so I decided to draw two of my favourite DC women.

Thank you Lazy Jane! (I like your username. Cheesy) It was a fimo airdry clay, described as being 'like china clay' but I think it's basically the same as all the other hard air-dry clays. I did make one doll with the more foamy Japanese style paper clay. I think that's the best for making nice light dolls that you don't have to be super careful of.

I have fully finished her now. I will get a pic up soon!

Thank you so much. She's finished now, though I may redo her feet at some point, lazy modeling on my part! I will get a new pic up, hopefully in better light. Cheesy
