a page from walter's scrap book

another two pages - sushi expedition!

katara even wrote out a journal for walter in addition to making the scrapbook

one of my favorite items - a beaded SA bracelet

thanks so much for everything katara!!! you did an amazing job!
2  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: (yet another) Green Atonement Dress (SO PIC HEAVY!) on: August 24, 2010 07:44:11 AM
clever and beautiful reinterpretation of a fantastic dress (I know all craftsters coveted that dress the minute it appeared in the movie!)

pop back in and show us a pic of you in it at the wedding if you get a chance! Smiley

I have already heard about that from a few people, but now that I know it's craftster-member approved I will definitely have to check it out!!!! Wink  Thanks for the welcome and for corroborating the recommendation!

Just wanted to pop in and thank everyone who posted to this thread!  I am moving to Durham, NC from New Jersey in three weeks, and I am super excited to figure out where to get my craft on so this starting list will help.  I know the info is a bit old so I'll be sure to call these places before I just show up and try to find them (in case they've gone extinct.)

If there are any other triangle-area crafters out there, give me a shout!  I'd love to know if there are any regular or semi-regular meet-ups in the area.

Cheers!
Bethiej
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 12-Summer Fun!(S/U to 5/13/10; S/O 5/21/10) CLOSED! on: August 10, 2010 07:15:38 AM
just checking in to say I'm alive, though barely!!

I am in the middle of transitioning to a new job and moving from new jersey to north carolina (and buying a house!), so to say my life has been crazy lately is the understatement of the century.

however, despite my craptastic posting record, kingsley is conveniently purse-sized and has been accompanying me on my dizzying number of adventures, including multiple trips to NC for house hunting and job interviews, a visit to friends and scavenger hunt in downtown boston, checking out the joint costuming exhibition at the brooklyn and metropolitan museums of art, and most recently canoeing down the delaware river from pennsylvania to the delaware water gap.

i have started working on my scrapbook and just PMed katara to promise to make up for a lack of posting with a kickass scrapbook.  (i hope my crafting skills can deliver what my enthusiasm hopes to create!)

anyway, just wanted to pop on and give an update.

have enjoyed a quick jaunt through the gallery this AM - looks like everyone's LVs are enjoying themselves.

GUESS WHAT!?  Grin Walter from NJ is super excited! He is going to a live 2010 FIFA World Cup Soccer match tomorrow to cheer for Team USA!!!  Grin

WOW!  How exciting!  I have been so busy lately (as has Kingsley) so we haven't had time to check in, but I bet Walter loved the match!!! Smiley  Lots of pics going up on the blog tonight (I posted an update in the gallery thread).

Kingsley and I had a craaaazy week!  Sunday through Wednesday we road-tripped from NJ to North Carolina to go look at a house (which I subsequently made an offer on which was accepted!  Craziness!  I am about to become a home-owner!!!!)  Then Thursday was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner for my brother's wedding, which was Friday!  Then Saturday we went to an all-day family event for the relatives still in town after the wedding, and Sunday we went to Hoboken to see the famous Macy's fireworks over the Hudson river!  Whew!  Lots going on!!!!  I hope to get pics posted to craftster and the blog tonight!

Happy belated 4th everyone! Smiley

kingsley and I went to NYC last weekend and no one gave us any strange looks at all.  guess it's less weird than the stuff they see every day!  Cheesy  Wink

They are probably used to me taking all my different LVs there! Did you go to FAO Schwartz? The guys at the front are so great with taking photos.

Gladys and I had such a fun weekend in Melbourne. I've updated her blog (link in my tag line). We had so much fun that I went to the store today and printed photos that weren't even on sale so that I could start scrapboking!! I'm too lazy to scrapbook my holidays but it's so much fun making one for Gladys. I'm thinking of making the book this time.... we'll see how that goes... Tongue

no but that's a good idea!  maybe on our next trip! Smiley  sorry i haven't been able to check in lately - lots of family goings on and also my five year college reunion!  kingsley accompanied me up to boston for that, but i think i'm going to save some of those pics as a surprise for the scrapbook! Smiley
