1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / You're the other half- Diptychs with my boyfriend on: August 25, 2009 02:54:07 PM
The boy and I are headed off to our first year of college. Unfortunately we're headed to two different colleges. This summer I told him I wanted to try painting with him, he's never painted before and I thought it would be both fun and nice to make a painting with him and use two canvas' so we could each take one. The first one was difficult and didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but he loved it and told me he wanted to do another before the summer was over... a month later- we did another and i love it.

What are your thoughts?
1- in the process

us - almost complete
-all done

2- - with our work

-completed but the glare is there a little
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Summer means dresses (huge pictures i'm sorry) on: July 26, 2009 01:01:48 PM
I just got my first macbook so i still have no idea how to compress pictures.. i apologize for them being so big

Back

ahh a little uneven... I'm still trying

I struggled a little bit on this one with the back... kept changing it and eventually made it too small to really get on and off comfortably so i fixed that but the skirt part of the dress remains a little messed up... i'll fix it eventually maybe tighten it up a little better. The top is way smaller than planned but its still wearable and i can always put a tank top underneath... overall this is my favorite completed project so far Smiley
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / It's time I update my projects(there are a lot) on: May 20, 2009 02:21:54 PM
Fantasy hand watercolor

Now I really don't find painting fun because I don't think I'm great at it at all... but working on this drift wood made me second think a little... Probably my favorite next to the cow painting

Another wood painting that I did as a gift for the sweetest woman in the guidance office- she was so cute; she told my teacher she almost cried.. and then she wrote me a thank you note.

Really easy but sweet project--watercolor spray sunset the completed work was with a desert silhouette

portraits for my boyfriend's aunt of her kids

As my senior final project I am doing portraits of all of my best friends for them before we graduate. The first one i did is a portrait for my friend Trent that he chose from middle school.

Next is my best friend from toddler on up I don't even remember meeting her it's been so long Smiley (noticing when I look a picture, that our noses look a little bigger- I may have to fix that before i give it to her)

Now this is my favorite picture taken at prom this year of me my boyfriend and our best friend mike ( this is going to mike)

So thanks for looking- I'm sorry there are so many pictures... I'm also missing one painting, but it's still at school.

For my art class we had John ,a local artist, come in and help us work with pastels I was pretty proud of myself i took my time on this one i generally rush though works but I know i could have spent more time on it. It's not quite the same but it was my first try and I'm rather proud of myself Smiley
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / can you say moo? on: January 16, 2009 05:22:32 PM
For class we worked on impressionism I did a painting before this one and it didn't turn out quite like i wanted it to and i work fast so i had a lot of extra time to do another painting. I found a picture from last fall in my pictures and I knew it'd be great to do a painting of them. So here's my go at impressionism.
What do you think?

7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / my first multi-colored OIL painting!! on: August 16, 2008 04:47:43 PM
Experimenting with colors was extremely difficult and hands down a good experience!
Pleased, but obviously not thrilled about it-it was my first time so I'll give myself time to learn and do better.
thoughts? tips?
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Dirndl for my senior pictures on: August 09, 2008 08:27:11 AM
My mom actually agreed that it would be fun to wear a dirndl for my senior pictures. We had gone to Germanfest when we thought the idea up, and since I have German background, and will be taking the language all through middle/highschool we thought it fit. I was so proud of her work, she made it all except for the socks and shoes obviously. She spent less than a week on it, and I felt this needed to be posted to show off how well she did on it.

I know my face looks disgusted in here, there was a spider web that my dress hit.
I may post more details later, and when I get my senior pictures back, we'll see if i can post one of those.

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / help with finding a matching pattern!!! on: June 19, 2008 03:41:36 PM
I'm interested in making a dress similar to this for homecoming this year. i realize it's a wedding dress, but i plan to change the color up and shorten it to knee high length. I just need help finding a pattern similar to this one. Hopefully someone has run across a pattern and could help me find it. Yes I've skimmed through all the major pattern maker's websites, but i may have skipped over it.  http://www.dressmakingdesign.co.uk/POO/IMGP0731.jpg
