Here are some of my latest attempts. 

On the one with the trees, I used a spray bottle lightly, but then just let it all drip on the letters.
On the one that says stars, I dipped a paintbrush in the bleach solution and went at it.
On the one that says Shine, I sprayed it with the spray bottle, more heavily on the letters, but then I dabbed it all with a paper towel.
