11  Christmas Scarves in Knitting: Completed Projects by dyingsockgirl on: March 14, 2007 06:05:56 PM
Aren't I quick to post? Thanks to my boyfriend for uploading from my camera or I probably wouldn't be posting for a few more months  Grin

One from rainbow noro for my best friend in garter stitch:

and a really long one for my brother (stockinette because I thought that complimented the thick&thin yarn best):

All packed up (yay!)

12  1st FO in Knitting: Completed Projects by dyingsockgirl on: March 14, 2007 05:57:03 PM
My grandmother taught me how to knit a long time ago but I didn't really get into it until summer '06.
My first FO: A cell-phone cozy

It's hard to tell from my craptastic photo but it's ribbed. Terribly seamed up but much better than a storebought one! I still use it.

Then my 2nd, 3d, and 4th FO were all branching outs. Here is the most recent:

For those who like close-ups here's one... although it's hard to see through all the mohair:

And to those who read the YKYACW thread... it was my 2nd branching out that I was using a fork at a restaurant to weave in the ends... still haven't blocked that one  Wink

13  Champagne Hearts in Valentine's Day by dyingsockgirl on: March 14, 2007 05:15:23 PM
Firstly let me vent because my login session timed out while I wrote this post the first time! *breathes* (not on my computer)

I made these up for my co-workers for valentine's day. They're classy yet only cost $2-$3 a person.
First fill up some simple dollar store champagne flutes with cinnamon hearts:

Make sure they are about even, and cover the top with some saran wrap for obvious reasons! Decorate however you like.

While at the dollar store I spotted some candles wrapped in these pink bags. I asked someone who was stocking if I could just get the bags. She said no... so I asked the cashier  Wink. She asked her manager, and after exchanging some weird looks, they agreed to give them to me for free! Score!  Cheesy Tie some ribbon bows to the stems of the glasses and voila!

Hope you like.

14  love book in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by dyingsockgirl on: February 13, 2006 10:38:48 PM
I had a piece of paper I made and decided to use it as the cover of a quick little book:

Ended up using it for one of those "reasons I love you" things after finding an estonian kids book with neat pictures in my basement. Here's an example:

15  bday card for poker fiends in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by dyingsockgirl on: January 19, 2006 10:44:55 AM

Well, the person I'm giving this to doesn't even know how to play poker. My boyfriend is a poker fiend though, so I'll have to make one like it for his next birthday.

16  Re: decoupaged card for a rainy day in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by dyingsockgirl on: January 19, 2006 10:41:28 AM
Your card is so pretty!
I tried to make one sort of like it:
front:

back:

You can't see it in the picture but the hearts are made out of red clear plastic stuff. Neat to see the text through. It's simple but I still like it.

19  First Try in Needlework: Completed Projects by dyingsockgirl on: January 11, 2006 02:03:00 PM
The other week I was bored and I found my old thread for making friendship bracelets so I decided to give embroidery a try. I free-handed it, and I am SO sorry about the crappy webcam pic, I don't have a digital camera! I promise it looks better in real life  Wink.
