Soo my fleshy companion and my anniversary is February 8th... close enough to VD and same sentiment. The first week of February we were in Mexico (my first real vacation, yay!). One of the days, I woke up at 4AM and snuck out of the villa with my treasure chest to go down to the beach (everyone wakes up super early to claim beach/pool chairs with their towels, so I had to make sure to get a good spot). They had trams that drove you around that don't technically start up until 7AM, but the drivers were nice and drove me to the beach anyway. It was PITCH BLACK. I couldn't even tell if there were people right in front of me. Okay, well not completely pitch black, because I saw enough by the moon to find some chairs near the sand. I dug a deep hole and buried the treasure (making sure to put a rock on top so I remember exactly where it is). Threw the towels down with a book, drew a quick map with pastels, and headed back.
He was so excited when he woke up and I handed him a map, bucket, and shovel. Here he is digging up the treasure:
Inside the chest were these paper stars and knitted hearts:
a pretty lacy nightgown, and this book:
I used the idea in the generic boyfriend gift thread for the pictures spelling out "I Love You" Here are some of the pics:
and on the page:
The longest part of the book was drawing the fancy letters, really.
He LOVED the treasure! He said it was the nicest thing anyone has done for him and couldn't believe I snuck out at 4 AM to set it up
Oh, and I made chocolate bowls. They are fiddly, as you have to make them thick enough so they won't break when you pop the balloons. But not that hard overall, and super impressive.
And some bleeding heart cupcakes I made for my office:
Sorry for the crappy pic. You can find the recipe here:
