1  Re: Burlesque Swap : The Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Moek on: June 08, 2009 09:34:43 AM
i got my package right when leaving my house and i promised myself that if i got pasties i would take some action pics for you guys, unfortunately i didn't get any pasties... BUT check out my wonderul package from sweetbettieleigh!

and after a long struggle with lighting and flickr/giving up on flickr and using picasa...

the package

a very pretty necklace/belt, but i love it so much as a necklace that i don't think i'd be able to resist wearing it as a necklace every time  Roll Eyes

after a much failed attempt at putting on the fake lashes with dollar store eyelash glue that does not stick (plus my only experience with false lashes was to dress up as alexander de large years ago) which lead to me getting so irritated at the non-sticky-ness of it that i gave up and went to bed...
and today i came up with this idea to display them!

AND my favourite! a fringe belt!

and she had made it a bit too big (but smartly added extra hooks which i used in the pic above) which is awesome cause i'd also love to wear it like this!

and all of it goes so well together! now i just need to find an excuse to wear it all  Kiss

2  Re: OTT 21 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Moek on: April 13, 2009 11:09:06 AM
I received my OTT from Pearliepie today and let's just say that i just spent some time at a baby name website to come up with a perfect name because he deserves nothing less than perfect.

and I present to you.....

E L L I S     T H E     E L E P H A N T

I was amazed beyond belief, and then when i thought he couldn't be more perfect i found out that he's posable!!!
(here he is waiting patiently for his turn to be center stage)

Ellis gets along marvelously with my juggling balls  Wink

He's got incredible balance, and he likes to show it off  Roll Eyes

Pearliepie managed to choose the theme i was hoping she'd choose (circus), AND she didn't even know that i love elephants! Since i'm not in the place i'd call 'home', it's so nice to have a little buddy to keep me company  Cheesy not to mention that i can marvel at the craftsmanship and be reminded of the circus everyday!

i know this might be an overload of pictures, but this one really shows the details of the rug well, behold the incredible details!

I had a little bit of a photoshoot with him  Cheesy. Can you tell that i love Ellis to bits!?

Thank you so much Pearliepie! honestly i've been super happy all day and posing him in various places (on my laptop, beside my desk light, by my jewelry, right now he's on my sewing machine) but soon i'm gonna move him right beside my alarm clock so i can see him when i wake up  Grin

*happy*

3  my (very compact) oilcloth wallets in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Moek on: February 25, 2009 10:42:34 AM
after 2 years my wallet looked pretty junky, so i made a new one!

it's made of oilcloth, and since i like my wallets compact enough to fit in the backpocket of my jeans (even though i keep it in my bag  Roll Eyes), it's pretty small, but efficient! and (i've been told) very unisex.

the wallet closed (it folds better as i use it more)

where the cards go...

the pocket for coins, it's velcro!

and where the bills go (it's pretty sad that i have only receipts in there right now...)

and my old one, this is after 2 years of use.... i loved it. it's so hard to part with it, but since i improved the coin area.... it was a bit easier to let go.

it definitely wears with time, but i like how it does that. even at 2 years old and some holes appearing in my orange wallet i still got compliments  Grin.
(i lost my wallet 2 years ago and when i got home i was sad about it, so to cheer myself up i made myself the orange one, so it's not very planned out and had some flaws)

bigger pics are here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mokapic/3309760932/in/set-72157613353828016/)

AND perhaps someone can give me tips on making them look more professional? i wouldn't mind selling some  Wink

4  Re: Auto Litter Bucket (Now with tute) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Moek on: February 04, 2009 08:27:03 AM
i feel a bit silly cause i made one but i don't have a car... hehe.

i just made it to put stuff in (mainly garbage while i'm sewing, like scrap fabric, thread, paper...) so mine isn't heavy duty at all.

thanks for the tute, and one day... when i decide to take driving lessons again, i'm gonna make one for my car!

8  Re: HELP with making a bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by Moek on: September 07, 2006 05:53:02 PM
oooo, i have a bag like this, i think it's from thailand (also the guy from ong bak has it so it's automatically awesome)

okay here is a really crappy 1 minute thing i did on paint.

basically you sew the same coloured areas together. and that's about it.
the long part is the strap, and the oval part is the bottom piece, which should be really reinforced if you aren't going to line it.
Those were really crappy descriptions and drawings but I hope it helped and you can make the bag. It's uber useful, carries anything  Grin

9  Some 3D Stuff. in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Moek on: August 23, 2006 01:12:32 PM
Jack Skellington Centrepiece (from a year ago for Art class)
(argh his head looks elongated in this pic)

Just something i made, i'd call it a mask but you can't really wear it...

I know... i suck with paint  Tongue

And a gun I made from a bible (sorry to the religious folks)

this took forever! i can pull off the barrel, the part that holds the bullets, and put in the "the end" bullet. but the trigger is immobile, which frustrates me!

I've love to know what you guys think!
 Thanks for looking  Cheesy

10  The Tiniest Craft Room Ever in CHALLENGE 14 ENTRIES by Moek on: August 05, 2006 03:41:04 PM
(My first challange!)

Here it is! there's lots of the detail you can't see but i'll point them out Smiley

(notice on the computer it says craftster Wink)
(on the top shelf is fabric, the middle a belt i tried to put on the dressform... that was NOT going to work, and on the bottom is a knit blanket, at the bottom is a photo of it in the making)
(the computer also has a keyboard and mouse and both are connected to the main thingy (forgot name))
(sadly you can't see the tiny book i made measuring 4mm that says knit on it)

It's a model of a tiny 2" craftroom

Next to a quarter

(this is the best pic to check out the sewing machine on, it's got a piece of metal where the needle would be and on top where the thread would be, it also has a few buttons, and if you look under the table there is the pedal complete with a "wire" (thread) attaching it to the machine)
(there is also a pin cushion on the table)
(you can't see it Sad but there is also a pair of scissors made of wire)
(beside the sewing table is a bucket with yarn in it)

Making the blanket

To make everything i used wire, wax, fabric, embroidery thread (blanky), sewing thread, seed beads, paper, lots of white glue, nail polish, a few toothpicks, and some other minor things)

My guess is this crafty lady likes to knit and sew clothes while surfing craftster.org, she sounds tres cool to me.

What do you guys think?    Grin
(if anyone wants pictures of individual things to look at i can probably get them up on sunday)
