AHH YOUR BOYFRIEND REMINDS ME OF MY FRIENDS TRAVIS THAT HAS DREADS!

Anyway, I think they look pretty good for being brand new. I think if he wants to wash them, he can, but they will probably unravel a bit. You can back comb them more though

I use Suave Daily Clarifying shampoo sometimes, it works great. My friend gave me a bar of knotty boy dread soap and it also works great.

I dont know anything about dread perms though

most of them are natural. There were a few that I backcombed after a few months because they kept getting too fluffy and all stuck together. I think 5 out of 20 were backcombed a little

I had rubber bands in my hair for a little while and it helped keep my roots separate when i first started. They never made my roots weak because I would take them out go a while with out them and then put new ones in. They shouldnt cause any problems if you dont have them in for too long. But if you do leave them in for a while, it will make your rooks weak and they will melt in your dreads and its gross.

You should post pics!

A few of my friends have cut or combed out their dreads in the past few weeks.
