34  It's Time for me to Learn a New Knitting Skill in Knitting: Completed Projects by Mamaphunk on: February 09, 2009 06:35:41 AM
Because I'm getting awfully creative with rectangles and my house is filled with scarves and dishclothes and really anything in square or rectangle form.  Grin

I made this pouch to carry my iPhone and some money/cards for when I don't want to carry my purse. I made it out of Noro Kureyon Sock Yarn and doubled it while knitting, I love how the colors turned out!

Oh thank you everyone!! I'm so glad you like it! I got those colors from using artist's chalk on wool blend felt! I just kept adding chalk until I got the color's I liked! I love this technique because you can get some good intense colors or just the nice light ones.

BUT! I didn't come here to talk about me! I received today from PerachYefah!! *woot*

Isn't it the most fabulous thing that you've ever seen? I love it!!! Look at the "J" she embroidered on the cake stand! (J for Julie, that's me!)

Thank you so much PY!  Grin

37  Sakura Pincushion in Needlework: Completed Projects by Mamaphunk on: February 04, 2009 07:38:25 PM
Ok, here was my pincushion that I sent to to PerachYafeh for barbolot's pin cushion swap. (Did you see barbolot's pincushion by the way? It was amazing! I love it!)

Anyway! On to the one that I made!

It's made of wool blend felt that I colored with artist chalks. I now am addicted to coloring felt with chalk, it's a weird sickness!

If you're interested in more details, I did a write up on my blog. I really loved making this, I hope everyone likes it! Thanks!

38  Pink Felt Pincushion and Gemstone Straight Pins in Completed Projects by Mamaphunk on: January 11, 2009 08:03:58 PM

I had a really, really fun time creating this one. I am in the middle of a pincushion swap and totally got inspired, I've made four completely different ones this weekend! (and to my swap partner, there's no way I'm posting a pic of yours before you receive it!  Grin)

Anyway, this is made from a 30% wool blend that I hand colored with chalk, everything is hand stitched.

I even reinforced the bottom so when you put it on a table, it doesn't roll away!

Here are the straight pins I made that go along with it!

39  No Knead Bread in Recipes and Cooking Tips by Mamaphunk on: January 01, 2009 04:39:19 PM
All I can say about this is WOW!!!

I used Not Martha's recipe* (which was originally from the NY Times) and techniques and came out with an amazing loaf!

Just out of the oven...

After cooling a while...

40  Little Japanese Girls in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Mamaphunk on: December 28, 2008 08:34:13 PM
This was my first project in the paper world (I'm usually sewing or doing something with yarn) but I think it turned out pretty cute. These came from a kit that my Mom got me for Christmas and I'm addicted to making them!

My favorite one so far!

This one is tiny!

She needs a touch of glue on her right sleeve!  Grin
