82  two shirts I made in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by hotty_blond2000 on: January 11, 2007 12:17:49 AM
the first one is a black top for me.
I used an old tank for main pattern.
Then I winged it on the sides to make 'cutouts'.

Icons for inspiration

Overall front

back (i used the quote about o.0 - if you cant read it.)

second shirt is for a guy friend at work (it's a surprise! just cuz Im bored,  Grin)

83  the dark fairy in Halloween Costumes by hotty_blond2000 on: October 31, 2006 11:50:41 PM

Not my natural hair color. I used temporary hair color spray. I'm a blond.

I researched art of fairies. And decided to base my wings on these.
  http://www.strangeling.com/allura.html

I used goodbye scissors tutorial.
Materials= pipe cleaners, black pantyhose, needle & thread, fake flowers, glue.
Sewed by hand. Took about 3 half hours total to bend & sew.
Would have been faster if i had one of those handsewers.
Plus i wish i would have had wire instead of pipe cleaners.

The skirt based off one of my store-bought skirts. I had to wing it
on the side slits. Again this was sewn by hand so the seams aren't great.

The shirt was an old long sleeve top that I cut up. The neckline
didnt turn out as well as I had hoped. I sewed the chain on the
inside for straps. No pattern at all.

The mesh overtop is just Halloween fishnet pantyhose from
Wal-Mart. I cut a hole in the crotch, & I had to cut the waistline
because it wouldnt stretch far enough.

The earrings are my knock-offs based on a pair i seen at Hot Topic's
website about a year ago.

My Fairy Costume

Makeup:           Peacock   not as good as hers.

Wings:

Outfit:

The shirt was an old long sleeve top that I cut up. (I plan to use the sleeves for future arm warmers.) The neckline didnt turn out as well as I had hoped. I liked how the chain looks as straps. No pattern at all.
The mesh overtop is just Halloween fishnet pantyhose from Wal-Mart. I cut a hole in the crotch, & I had to cut the waistline because it wouldnt stretch far enough.
 The shoes are store-bought.

Hair:
The hairstyle is modified from a style I found in a magazine.  I used Halloween hair color spray to color my hair.
            My steps:
 1. Separate front hair from back.
 2. Pull top half of back hair into ponytail.
 3. Make that ponytail into a messy bun.
 4. Put in hair sticks to hold up messy bun.

Jewelry:
Necklace- bought at claires long time ago.
Earrings- I made em. Based on a pair from hot topic's website about a year ago.

85  from costume to dress in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by hotty_blond2000 on: May 11, 2006 12:27:24 PM
I bought this costume last year. I want to make it look as though
i didn't buy it in the costume department.

  front of dress w/ flash

back of dress. It ties togother.

front of sleeve. I like the sleeves except...

that they're held together with a safty pin.

Any ideas to make it look less like a halloween costume?
