1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Week of gifts for boyfriend? on: September 25, 2008 05:01:01 PM
So, my boyfriend is going to Italy for a week in October (27th through 31st), and I've decided to get him something for every day of the week leading up to it so that he remembers me...and doesn't fall in love with some random Italian girl. ;]
I've got it scheduled and everything.

Sunday: Hello Kitty ID case with a picture of me in it. (He knows I love Hello Kitty)
Monday: Ipod cozy. (Idk what pattern to put on it.)
Tuesday: Handkerchief. (I wear this bandanna ALL the time. He'd get it.)
Wednesday: Hello Kitty Keychain (Again, Hello Kitty.)
Thursday:
Friday: My school ID. (My school ID is pretty silly. He likes it.)
Saturday: Bundle of letters for every day of the trip. + Something else?

As you can tell, I'm stuck on Thursday and Saturday.
He likes: Theater, The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Who, The Doors, The Beatles, The Fratelli's, grafitti art, Back to the Future, Asian food, cheesy gestures, and...me.

Also, he's 16. That's kind of important sometimes...
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Revenge Sewing on: April 16, 2008 01:27:03 PM
So, my ex of a year dumped me out of the blue for NO APPARENT REASON. (Which I'm still angry about.)
He gave me a ton of clothes while we dated, and let me 'borrow' some of his. (He's not getting them back. HA!)

I'm totally stuck on this shirt that he gave me, though.
I think it's really, really stupid, so I never wore it.

I want to make it into something rad and wear-able.

Advice?
(I've looked at some t-shirt recons, but I just don't like any of them.)
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / My Unorignal "I love you" Book! (Pic OBESE!) on: February 15, 2008 01:25:18 PM
So, I wanted my boyfriend to have something that he can look back at in a couple of years and say "Wow. That girl made something AMAZING for me!"
But, I'm not original at all, so I searched the Valentine's Day threads here.
Thankfully, I found this http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=77622.0 and fell in love.

So, I got to work :]
But I didn't have anyone else to take pictures for me, so...I did it myself!
(They're kinda Myspace-y.)

He loved it so much that he showed his mum :]
I don't have pictures of the book because I gave it to him the day I finished it. :/
But it also had a poem I wrote about us. haha.

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Gift for the most un-girly Aunt. on: December 22, 2007 01:06:13 PM
My aunt is one of the hardest people I have to shop for.
She's a hands-on, tool-using kind of girl.
But I don't want to buy her tools because that's what everyone's getting her.
I don't really want to get her a book, either.

So complicated.
Help!
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Put a little abstract in your day! (Just a WEE bit of adult language...) on: October 07, 2007 07:50:25 AM
When I get bored, I start going crazy on the back of index cards.
Recently (being yesterday) I upgraded to a sketchbook.
I don't know if you can really consider it 'art' so much as...colourful vomit.

I'm also not quite sure what to do with them. I tore them out of the sketchbook to colour them, and I didn't think much after that. Since they're probably worth less than a penny, I probably wouldn't sell them. Give them away to the Goodwill in picture frames for happy thrifters to find and cherish? Posibility. :]

Ha, no.
But here we go.
I've got 4 done right now, I've got like 7 or 8 to colour in.

The End of 'Freebird'

I was thinking about Guitar Hero and how they're like "Remember. No Stairway!" and how much Freebird sucked to play the first time I played career thing on it. haha.
Also, I was thinking about doves...but they turned into crows.

Little Black Dress

Yeah. I started thinking about clothes. If you think about it while you look, you can see the pants, the LBD, a bra and panties, and a blue cape. It's like a scavenger hunt!! :]

Green Doves for Alien Dinner

I just started drawing, and a green dove-like thing turned up. So I went with it, I guess. And...perhaps the grey on the bottom by the dove is...the alien's silverware? I don't know, I really didn't think too deeply about these.

Last, but not least, the language one.
It's really only the title.

Fuck the Sun!

Yeah. Warped Tour 2007 Kansas City. Anyone there? Remember Chiodos? Something about "It's hot out here...wait, did I just hear a 'fuck the sun'?"
Yes, I base my life off of that statement now. lol.
Also, it was really hot in my house and no one would turn on the air conditioning! (Now that it's cold...the air conditioning's on. x_x)

So, sorry for totally wasting your time, but I'd appreciate constructive criticism...or any "I hate it! Time-waster!"'s.
Sweet.

((If I get enough positive feedback, I'll probably share the others...for those of you interested. Right...))

--Suzy.

PS: I'm not quite sure why some have the black outline, and freebird doesn't. x_x
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Nothing says "I'm sorry and I love you!" like a felt monster! :] Update! on: July 10, 2007 12:21:55 AM
My boyfriend and I have been fighting a LOT lately, and I finally decided to do something nice :] (Since I've been starting most of the fights..bad me!)

So...I made him a felt monster :]
...but not just ANY felt monster...

Meet Roxy (I was listening to Fall Out Boy's cover of the song Roxanne...yes, I was listening to Fall Out Boy. Deal :])

Looks ordinary, right?
WRONG!

If you see in this diagram, it says "ily <3" sewn by myself :]
I sewed it under the tongue because they're the words hiding under my tongue every time we fight.
(I'm really cheesy, I know.  Tongue)

Here's Roxy's bum. Isn't it beautiful?
I had to sew a new panel of felt because I didn't want him to see the backward image of "ily <3" on the back. I like surprising people :]

And the inside of the mouth, with the beautiful tongue that took me 15 freakin' minutes!

Total time: 2 hours.
There might be something wrong with me...

It took so long because I went to GREAT LENGTHS to make sure that most things were JUST SO.

I was using some kind of weird stitch I learned in 4th grade at church...
It makes it really clean, but it takes awhile.

I REALLY hope my boyfriend appreciates this...because I know he's not one of the "crafty-appreciating" types.
(I'm also baking him cookies...because I KNOW he likes my cookies...even if he refuses to admit it.)

Now for the apologies:

Sorry for the lengthy post and the camera phone pictures :/
I'm wordy and too lazy to go get my crappy camera that likes to die unexpectedly.

Comments, (constructive!) criticism, anything else is more than welcome :]

THIS IS AN UPDATE! :]

The boy simply LOVED the monster :]
But...he didn't like my cookies? x_x
I mean, I know he had some of them, but he was like "Well, I would've preferred crunchy cookies."

He's so weird.
But thanks for the comments :]
It makes me feel better than great.
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Broken refrigerator to closet/shelf thing? on: June 22, 2007 12:38:42 AM
So I saw a broken refrigerator sitting on the side of the road a week ago, but I didn't have the courage to take it. (And quite frankly, I don't know when I'd have time to clean it up.)
Now the doors and shelves are gone... :/

But it got me thinking.
How cool would a broken refrigerator be in your room?
I mean, I've got a weird way of thinking, but how would that work?

Anyone have any ideas?
Because I really want to find a broken refrigerator and make a storage unit for my room!
8  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Duct Tape, Scissors, And my boyfriend thinks I'm mainstream. Kind of pic-obese. on: March 20, 2007 11:33:37 PM
Okay, so my boyfriend called me mainstream...ouch.
(But he's pretty right. :/)
Just because I was revamping my Vans!
But, yeah. I pretty much plastered duct tape and elecrical tape on my Vans.
So..this is my first...anything on here, so please be gentle? <3
Any kind of criticism is welcome!
(Seriously, anything :])

PS: Sorry it's so pic-obese :]

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Less than a week, and I've got nothing! on: February 08, 2007 10:23:53 PM
Okay, this shouldn't be as difficult as it is.
My boyfriend simply refuses to tell me what he wants.
He wants to be a model. (I can't really help him with that, even though I'm his photographer-of-sorts.)
He's VERY picky about music, so mixtape type gift is out.
He's really into makeup, but I don't want to give him makeup because it's what most people get him. (And because he looks better in it. lol)
He's 17 and he works at Hot Topic.
We've been dating for almost a month.

I can sew, but my machine is currently broken.
I can pretty much figure out anything you put in front of me. (Except knitting and crochetting.)

Can anyone help me out here?
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / a [small] cute gift for someone i love on: August 20, 2006 04:57:48 PM
okay, so my boyfriend left for about a month, and he'll be back in 20 days. i want to make him something AMAZING to let him know that i missed him, but i want it to be kind of small (because he can't think that i'm TOO eccentric. lol)

anywho, he's kind of conceited, he wears makeup (yay! i didn't even have to beg him. lol) he LOVES villie valo. he's kind of tall, a tad bit intimidating if you don't know him. uh...he's pretty into music. he wears a lot of black. he's a self proclaimed punker (which i think is simply adorable.)

yes, so i have about 20 days to do this. it sounds like a long time, but i only have a week left of summer and then it's back to school. so i kind of really have like 10 days, and then a couple of nights.

i've never made him anything before, but i told him what i was making him for valentine's day (a '10 reasons i love you' book)

i'm alright at sewing, but some things just don't work. suggestions would be AWESOME. so....thanks ^_^
<3 suzy.
