Okay, this may already be passe, but I need help regardless...

I am making purses out of cigar boxes and I don't really know where to get the handles. I looked online, and the only company I found looks kind of fly-by-night, not the kind of place I want to give credit card info to, ya know?

Here in TX, we have Michael's and Hobby Lobby, but I don't think they have anything that would do...

Any ideas of a good online store?

I picked Girlscoutriot because it's so fun and sort of grrrr. My boyfriend and I were kicking around names for his band two years ago, and that's when I came up with it. The band ended up being named "summer of kings" (bo-ring!!!) So I kept the name for myself. Maybe I'll use the name for my band someday, if I ever actually learn to play my bass...

Girlscoutriot... Sort of brings to mind a bunch of pissed off girls in pigtails throwing Thin Mints, doncha think?
34  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re:Ideas for Christmas gifts on: November 05, 2003 01:58:46 PM
OMG, my first post! I am so excited... Anyways, I, too, need ideas for the upcoming holiday season gift type thing. Here's the rundown so far:

Mom: Lavender scented booties that you can warm up in the microwave.
Dad: Book (that's easy, I'm just buying it...)
Uncle: Bottle of Crown Royal (it's what I get him every year)
11 yr old sis: Decoupaged picture frames to go with the Hawaii mural I painted in her room

Here's where it gets hard...

21 yr old bro (into techno music and dirtbiking): Huh
14 yr old bro (into playing his bass and skateboarding): Huh maybe a custom strap for the bass... how could I make it?
6 yr old bro (into cartoons and Chicken McNuggets):Huh
5 yr old bro (into G.I. Joe and being loud): Huh

I also have to do gifts for my boyfriend's whole family, which is hard, because they are picky. Due to the economy, we have put a 20-30 $ cap on all gifts, but I'd like to make stuff in order to still have it be special... SO, if anyone has any good new ideas, I'd LOVE to hear them... I can't knit worth a damn, and due to allergies, I can't do the whole soap/candles thing (their allergies, not mine.)

Arnieways, thanks very much for the help! I'll post pix of the stuff as I complete it...

 Kiss
