1  Re: Stuffie Swap 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by gothmom on: September 30, 2008 06:50:32 AM

This is the Naked Goblin I sent to RikaHeart.  His bio is this:  He was living in the basement of his parents cave playing video games for a few years, but finally his parents got sick of his slacker ways and threw him out.  So now he is naked and homeless.  And so I sent him to RikaHeart hoping to fix at least one of those problems.

Gothmom
trying to get my final swap finished so I don't have to worry about swaps anymore!

At long last, the tardy Gothmom posts pics.

Before I do, I just wanted to say that this is probably my last swap.  I've been doing this for years, dozens of swaps and some have been good and some have been real disappointments (not this one, don't worry Random you're great)  I've been flaked on  and I have angel'ed and I have even moderated a swap once.  But the pressure of the review you get at the end and the angst it causes makes the scales tip in favor of not doing it anymore.

Okay -so off the soapbox and on to the pics.

My camera must have had a hangover the day I took these pics...

First off - Ransom is a great swapper - she PAYS ATTENTION to what you say you like/dislike and really crafted just for me.  That was really super and great and rarer than you'd think.

First off - all the pieces were individually wrapped and inside a really nice archive box.  It was more presents than I've gotten for my birthday for the last few years I'll tell you that much!

photo of the wrapped schwag:

And then I ripped those beautiful things open...and this is what I found.

Ganesh - remover of obstacles on a pouch

Note the quality sewing on this pouch please...

Sovan Macha- the mermaid that Hanuman falls in love with on a small trinket box

Snow White and Rose Red on a handmade book

Baba Yaga on a handmade book

Scary monsters and werewolves! - el chupacabra too - bookmarks

I see Ransom has a 1" buttonmaker too! Smiley  note the sexy librarian button!

These were great items, well made, thoughtful, packaged like super great and Ransom was really kind and patient with me sending her stuff late.

Thanks again!

Gothmom's Ye Olde Shoppe of Random Stuffe
CLOSED

Baby Jayne Hat - 3 pts

okay not the Baby Jane from the film with Bette Davis, but a Jayne hat for the kind of person with a really smallish head -- but maybe not a baby, but a kid.  A grown up could wear this if they had a smallish head or liked a really snug fit.  Made of super bulky wool in the ubiquitous jayne colors.

Lavender Leather Mask - 3 pts

A Lovely little leather mask the color of lavender leaves. (that's green...)  Also covered all over with stamped leaves - its got a row of curled spikes at the top.

This is a smallish domino that would fit really well on a young person's face.  Don't forget Halloween is coming and some kids are sophisticated enough to pull something like this off!

Leather Horns -  1 pt
Okay all you satyrs, faeries, demons and devils, you need a pair of these horns - they are totally prosh and lightweight.  They affix to your head with an "invisible" stretchy cord and unlike those clunky, heavy polymer clay horns, these babies won't hurt you if you bonk your head with them on.  I have dozens of these!  I sell these on my etsy shop for big bucks, here's your chance to get them on the swap!

that's my husband, isn't he handsome in the horns?

a pair of curly horns.  I have curly and straight.  White, Black and Red

Leather Rose - 1 pt

A leather rose is a great gift.  They never die because they're dead already!!! (gimme a break guys, I'm GOTHmom after all!)
Seriously, you want a leather rose in your lapel or wrapped in your hair.
Colors available are Red, Black and White.  (I've got about 10 on hand)

ATCs - .5 pts for both
a couple of ATC's I made.   I have a dark sense of humor!

*we* shot a bear!

captain hammer (I'm obsessed)

Claims from me:
list all claims made to your shop none -1 pair horns (1 pt)
1 pr horns (1 pt)
1 red leather rose (1 pt)
1 red leather rose (1 pt)
1 white leather rose (1 pt)

Claims I have made:
sushi stamps - 2
minty ruffly scarf - 2

So...

I got my box from Iloveoctopus and I geeked out immediately.

a t-shirt proclaiming my geekness (which I will have to defend against my 17 year old geek daughter from stealing like she stole my +2 shirt of nerdiness)

Katamari Damacy is my passion (well one of them - now I'm all about Dr. Horrible)
An earring/necklace set.  The first of 2!

The second...na na na na na na na na na na katamari damacy...

these earrings (though the photo is le crap) are really looking like katamari!

And I love Robots-- and got 2 pairs of robot earrings - I put one pair on immediately, so here's the other pair.

I got lots of compliments on robot earrings yesterday at work.

Thanks much my geek partner - this is delightful!!

I received my first ATC from acidtrix

Lady Adventurer Card -- Collect Them All!

Oh it is encased in beeswax - which you probably cannot tell - but you can feel when you pick up the card - its heft is good and it feels waxy!!!

Thanks Much!
