I made this bag several years ago. It was my first sewing project. (I totally taught myself to sew!) Of course, it wasn't too hard, because it's all straight stitching.

My mom had this vintage dress from when she was in high school; back in the 50s. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it. Since it wasn't my size I decided to make something out of it. The only "new" part of the bag is The Clash patch, which my wife bought from Hot Topic   (I do my best not to shop there...or go within 100 feet of the mall if I can help it)

Anyway, my first sewing project. Not a great job, but definitely my favorite bag.

How about a challenge where we craft something out of materials from work? Preferably materials that they are not using or are about to throw out.

We received a "Sexually Oriented Ad" in the mail a couple of months ago.  It was addressed to the previous resident and/or "Current Resident," and was advertising a "male enhancement" product.

All of the images in the ad were male-centric. Each focused on the pleasure of the male. All the womyn in the ad were presented as mere objects, methods with which the males used to climax.

I decided to take the offensive images and reconstruct them in a manner which makes sense to me.

This is the first time I've ever posted a recipe. *excited*

Ingredients:
2           8 oz. containers of Soy Yogurt.
1 or 2     whole fruits (depending on your taste)
            (berries, bananas and pineapple are my personal favs.)
2 1/2      scoops of Trader Joe's Organic Soy Protein Powder
2 to 3     cups of Organic Soy Milk.
1/4 tsp.   vanilla (optional)

Blend yogurt, protein powder, and 1 cup of the soy milk together in a blender. (This eliminates clumps and allows for smooth smoothie). Add fruit, blend. Add the remaining soy milk and/or vanilla. Blend until smooth.

Serves: 2 eighteen ounce servings.

This smoothie works best for two. We've found that it gets us through the morning and straight through to lunch. Protein is the key.

I made this cover several months ago for my Samsung D807. It's made out of black and white felt. I used a blood-red embroidery thread to stitch it together. It was really easy AND I finally found, well..made, a Cell Phone cover that suits me.

I'm not a floofy girl, but my wife is.  So, I decided I'd make her a v-day gift with a punk edge (being that we're both of the punk disposition  )   It includes the phrase, "I love You," in several different languages with varying font faces, Scriptures from the bible (that's right!) and romantic quotes from some of her favorite songs and poems. 

Also, this is my first post and book ever on Craftster!!  (yay!)

Materials Used:
Dated letter head from work for the pages
Cereal boxes for the cover
Acrylic Paints: Metallic Pewter and Silver
Fine, Red Glitter
Tacky Glue
Large Staples and Stapler (from work, of course)

I wanted an industrial-ish metal finish, but I don't know how to work with metal. I opted for cereal boxes from the recycling bin and a pewter paint.  I added a bit of my Diva self--represented by the glitter.
