2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Photography + Swap on: March 30, 2009 11:22:19 AM

3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Sugar Skull Knitting Needles on: February 17, 2008 04:25:03 PM
This is was my very first time using polymer clay. I sculpted 2 skulls out of white and black polymer clay, painted them with acrylic and sprayed with a satin finish.
After all the detailed painting and the sanding and re-sanding of the dowels, I spent about 4 hours on the needles. I've very proud of them.  It was difficult to package them and mail them to my swap partner. lol.  Hope you like.

I got the idea from Cat Morley. You can find her original post here: http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/knitting_needles

I made these for the Great Skull Swap. It was my first time working with polymer and I'm pretty happy with the results.

I got the idea from EdnaTheWitch here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=199984.msg2125006#msg2125006
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Dexter Swap on: January 02, 2008 08:06:56 AM
Season 2 just ended and I'm totally jones-ing for more.

Any other fans out there? I would totally love to do a dexter swap. He's soo adorable in that demented, serial killer way of his. Wink
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Pulp Fiction Swap. on: December 17, 2007 02:20:37 PM
No, not based on Quentin Tarantino's flick.

You know those old pulp fiction novels from back in the day? yeah, those.

They're pretty spicy, so it may need to be an 18+ swap.

7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / The "I Hate Christmas" Swap. 'Cause what's to like? on: December 05, 2007 01:23:24 PM
Crabby shoppers.
Pressure to buy the perfect gift
Everyone allowed to be, nay, expected to be completely self-centered. I want, I want, I want!
Family get-togethers
Family arguments...*sigh*

What's to like? Does anyone else feel the same way?

Ba Humbug!
8  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Mostly Organic Vegan-ish Chocolate Chip Cookies. on: November 20, 2007 04:13:28 PM
I used the recipe from this website: http://www.razzledazzlerecipes.com/vegan-recipes/vegan-chocolate-chip-cookies.htm.
But, I substituted a Rye and Whole Wheat flour mix. Because, unless someone requests, we just don't cook with that horrid white, gummy flour.
We only had, oh, 1/4 cup of organic choco chips. So, I made my wife run out and buy a bag. She came back with Ghiradelli Dark choco chips 60% cacao. Everything else I used was organic.
OMG, sooo good. I wish you all could try them.

Pics!
Fresh from the oven. mmm.

Melty (and blurry) chocolate. A girl's best friend. Wink

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Postsecret with a Twist on: November 16, 2007 12:38:10 PM
I am totally bummed that I missed this swap...AGAIN.

 Cry *cue violins*

I know the latest Postsecret Swap just closed. But maybe I, or anyone else who is interested, can think of way to put a twist on it. So, it's not the same.

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Problem with felt: lballs of lint everywhere! on: October 02, 2007 10:55:52 AM
I made myself a nifty little cell phone cover/cozy out of pre-cut squares of felt and embroidery thread.
(you can view it here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=193453.0)

I love how it came out and would like to make more. Except, I've run into a problem--balls of lint. They've covered the cozy and I don't know how to prevent and/or get rid of them without taking a blade to them. Any suggestions or advice?
