Oh god, I played a Bundy alto sax once and almost died from horror.
You could use a functional clarinet as a lamp, just pull off the mouth piece and run the electrical cord through the clarinet with the bulb socket resting on top of the neck. Just don't glue or cut anything and you can reassemble the clarinet if someone wants to play it. Just watch out for heat and warping of the instrument and what not. Does that make any sense?
