21  Re: Cropped Jacket from KNIT1 Summmer 2006 in Knitalongs by dizzydragonfly on: September 05, 2006 06:25:58 PM
Yeah! I finished my cropped cardi! The buttonholes are a little funky so I need to fix that somehow (either re-sew buttons or re-do buttonhole band) but in the mean time...here it is.

As you can see I opted for the vintage mother of pearl buttons. Thanks for your imput everyone!

Shocked I just did!

I am sure I would have found it eventually...I plan on reading it as soon as I finish my current read...but the clue helped!

Smokey likes it too!

23  Shapely indeed! in Knitting: Completed Projects by dizzydragonfly on: August 16, 2006 01:50:00 PM
This pattern has been around for a while, but I am a relatively new knitter. Here is my shapely tank using KnitPicks Shine in Grass. There are more pics on my blog!

Thanks for looking!

Hooray! I finally won an ebay auction...two actually and one of these will be the button for this sweater!

My first win are these 2" pinkish lavender buttons that may or may not be a good color match (we shall see when they arrive)

Or these mother of pearl buttons (and one of the buckles will grace my tempting II from Knitty that is my current WIP)

Thanks for all your button suggestions...they have been bookmarked for future projects. Hopefully these will arrive soon so I can finally finish!!! Smiley

Here are my goodies from SevsOnlyGirl...

Everything pulled straight from the box- a very full purse in fabu fabric (if this was the big print fabric you mentioned Dawn- I love it!) and a flexi ice cube tray where the cubes are shaped like palm trees!  Cheesy

Details of the purse...big button to keep it closed, two very useful pockets and a sweet dragonfly patch (love it!!!!)

And all the goodies inside...pens, highlighters (both a students friend!), a tampon case (I've been looking for one of these!), accent gems of two kinds, dragonfly patches, a sci-fi book, mints and lip balm.

Thank you so much Dawn! You spoiled me!!!  Grin

So I have a question for all of you...where did you get your buttons?  Huh

I am having an awful time finding ones that I like and are large enough and/or reasonably priced. I am scouring ebay (I've been outbid twice) and places here in NYC. I am thinking I want 1.5"-2" (not smaller) since I want to stick to the pattern and use 3. The ones that I fell in love with were more than $10 each. Three buttons would cost more than the yarn! yikes!  Shocked

I am using Lion Brand Wool-Ease in this color (rose heather...aka a pinkish lavender color)

Any suggestions would be much appreciated since I can't finish my last button band with out buttons! Thanks bunches!!!

27  Scarf Love... in Knitting: Completed Projects by dizzydragonfly on: May 28, 2006 02:28:11 PM
Recently I got this yarn...

Which I was completely obsessed with (don't you love the star shape on the end). It is spun wool by Kramer Yarns and is called Mauch Chunky. The color (which is what got me completely hooked) is Rhubarb. I decided to make a simple ribbed scarf and I almost wish it was not summer so I could wear it now!!!

28  Re: Tree swap 2nd Round, The Real Deal Gallery in The Swap Gallery by dizzydragonfly on: May 18, 2006 07:48:17 PM
Heck ya I got trees (especially tree crafting) on the brain! I have been contemplating it for weeks and it is kind of hard to stop!!!  Smiley

Since Sissychrissy hasn't had a chance to post what I sent to her yet...I will post the pics I took before the package left my hands. (Hope you don't mind I did this for you Sissychrissy!)

The whole shebang...

The earrings...
(They are photoshop altered photos by Ansel Adams, one is Oak Tree at Sunrise and the other is Oak Tree at Sunset)

The screenprinted tee...

And the felted needle case....
(with an inside view with heavy paper examples of what each slot is for!)

I got my package from Sissychrissy today! Woo hoo!!

Here is the crafty goodness I received...

Fun wrist cuff bracelets:

Eyemask that says "I think trees are peachy!"
(and I was just saying the other day I needed to get one of these for when the migraines strike,
that or the need for and afternoon nap!)

A wonderful earring holder plus a detail showing some of my earrings standing in as leaves!

And last but not least, my tree-inspired bag with a leafy flap!

Thanks so much Sissychrissy...you were an amazing swap partner.  Grin

30  Re: ATC-along, everyone! **APRIL'S theme is "GOD". Post on Fridays!!!" in Craftalongs by dizzydragonfly on: April 21, 2006 03:11:37 PM
Well...I didn't get four cards done like I wanted to make up for not posting last week. I finished three though!

This one says "God is there when you are not looking." It is hard to see, but there is a silhouette representing the god you cannot see...

A tribal goddess figure...

And one of my new tree goddesses which is drawn over an antique photo I got at an auction...
