13  At long last my Green Gables is finished! in Knitting: Completed Projects by dizzydragonfly on: June 06, 2007 03:29:21 PM
After a fierce battle with gauge and size, I finally finished my Green Gables by Zephyr Style.

I used Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Columbine Blossom and I love this yarn! I have 2 1/2 skeins left over so some other fun summer tank might need to be made.   Grin

Thanks for peeking!

15  Hooray...I used my sewing machine for the first time today! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by dizzydragonfly on: May 24, 2007 05:19:52 PM
There is nothing like a nice little ipod cozy to test out a new sewing machine. This is my very first sewing machine so that makes my little cozy something to celebrate. Isn't she cute!

I used this tutorial by katherine83 http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=21586.0 and I couldn't be happier. All I need to do now is find a snap or Velcro to keep it closed.

Thanks for looking!   Grin

16  A week off and Finished Objects to share! in Knitting: Completed Projects by dizzydragonfly on: February 22, 2007 07:47:44 PM
Oh it feels so nice to finally get some projects off the needles!

A little extra coffee + a week off of school = lots o' knitting

In addition to the shawl I posted earlier (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=154289.0) here are some other finished objects...

- a tea cozy from One Skein Wonders (leftover Lion Brand Wool-ease that I frogged from my very first knit scarf...it was awful!)

- a Jayne Cobb hat (pattern by Bootstrap Productions) for a friend in Aussi Wool

17  It's not just a shawl...it can be origami! Updated: Link to Pattern Added!!! in Knitting: Completed Projects by dizzydragonfly on: February 22, 2007 08:53:23 AM
This is the shawl I knit for a friend...

I wanted to give her wearing options and was inspired by all the buttonhole-like eyelets so I added a button to one corner and voila!

She can wear it this way...

Or this way...

Or this way...

Or perhaps this way...

It's like origamami!

I love this colorway of Noro Silver Thaw. It reminds me of Van Gogh's Irises which is appropriate since my friend was my cooperating teacher during my student teaching last semester (we are art teachers).

I hope she likes it!  Wink

Update:  I wrote up a pattern and put it on my blog: http://dizzydragonfly.blogspot.com/

20  Re: Deep V-neck top pattern? in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by dizzydragonfly on: September 12, 2006 05:55:41 PM
I think I may have stumbled upon something for you!

Suss Designs sells this pattern

http://sussdesigns.com/knittingSite/productDetail.php?prodID=329

I am sure you could add a v-neck line some how...maybe blending the pattern with Glampyre's Mesh Tank to create your very own design.

Hope this provides a little inspiration!
