11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / ID Badge necklace on: May 04, 2008 04:09:55 PM
Okay...I made this eyeglass necklace for addicted2knitting a few weeks back:

I'll just have to try harder to make the next one a little less awesome so I'll be able to tear myself away from it! Lol.  Grin
12  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Slightly Saucy on: February 09, 2007 06:01:05 PM
The text is from a cheesey romance novel so I thought the picture was appropriate! (My poor Cosmo...)

Er...I hope it's not TOO saucy.  Huh
13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Ornaments and other goodies (img heavy) (complete w/ photos) on: January 13, 2007 08:28:42 PM
I know it's all over now but I wanted to share some of the stuff I made over the holidays, just because. Smiley

This is my favourite. It's a lovely glitterfied pinecone. I only made two because it was SO messy:

(you can't tell how much it SPARKLES)

And a close second, my gothic stocking:

I made loads of felt ornaments for my friends this year:

(and loads more of the same)

And, finally, I made all our cards this year out of last year's cards. Smiley

(and more again!)

What'd'ya think?
14  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / 1 Angel FOUND--OWS13 on: November 12, 2006 06:06:53 AM
Looking for an angel for catpants please!

1. A sturdy messenger bag with an adjustable strap. I need something I can use when I ride my bike. Extra points if it has a cute animal appliqued on the flap
2. A circle skirt. Pretty please?
3. Pajama pants
5. Some sort of summery shirt/tank top. There are a few in my wists that I would love! Somewhat relatedly, a cute cardigan or hoodie (could be reconned, embroidered, whatever) to wear when it gets chilly!
6. I'm copying Kristen81 and making a craftster quilt! Send me your quilt squares -- finished size 8" please.
7. A wallet. The more little pockets, the better. I'd love it to have a snap closure and a spot for my checkbook. Failing that, a matching checkbook cover would be sweet!
8. An oven mitt and/or potholders.

1. Amigurumi animal modeled after one of my pets (your pick of cat, dog, or chickens -- thanks dithmer for my amigurumi hamster and craftydeb for two of my kitties!)
2. A sweater. Ha.

Paper crafts:

1. Paper stars for me to hang in my room like these ones: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=83862.0;topicseen
2. I can always use more notecards! There are lots in my wists.

A DIY kit for any of the following:

1. screen-printing
2. how to make my own cleaning supplies (i'm looking for natural/non-toxic, cheap, and good-smelling)
3. kanzashi flowers -- I know how to make a basic flower, but i'd love to learn different and more advanced techniques!
4. punchneedle embroidery

1. I love this crane necklace: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=72997.msg686245;topicseen
or anything made with PMC. I like the rosebud earrings I've seen.
2. Any sort of etched glasses or painted tea cups, preferably with nature themes.
3. A stenciled/silkscreened shirt (fitted please!) Things Ive been into lately: birds, cherry blossoms, cats, trees, nature themes, foxes, chickens.
4. Anything for or about any of my pets pictures available upon request  The cats could really use some new dishes.
5. A prettified travel coffee mug for me to take to work in the mornings. My roommate borrowed my old one a few months ago, but it was pretty ugly anyway. Dishwasher safe please
6. A small embellished three-ring binder (with some sort of closure - snap or magnetic would be awesome) that I can use to put my day planner and address book in.
7. An earring holder. I love earrings, and I have nowhere to keep them. I prefer the picture frame kind with wire mesh; there's at least one in my wists that I adore!
8. Craft books or magazines! There are a few in my wists, but I'd love to take any of your unwanted craft books off your hands.
9. Anything for my house, from dishes to pillowcases to art to rugs, anything you can think of to make my house more of a home.
10. Anything from my wists or based on my wists!
11. A suprise!

1. Anything to help me organize all of my craft junk. This could be anything from a pretty jar to hold pencils/rulers/scissors to a decoupaged box to a nice big basket/tote for works in progress. Any organization would seriously help me!

2. Colorful roving for needle felting and felted beads! I just learned how to spin (with a drop spindle), so anything that could help with that would be wonderful! I make very, uh, interesting yarn so far.  I'd also love any natural-colored wool yarn or roving, because I'm getting a wool dyeing kit from sharc!!

3. Fabric! I like all the hip new designers (Amy Butler, Michael Miller, Free Spirit), small cute flowers/plants, fruits and veggies, cute animals, 30s style prints... I could go on and on  I try to remember to add things I like to my fabric wists, but I usually forget. I'm not a big fan of pin-up girls, tattoo flash, etc.

4. I'm making a charm quilt with 4" squares of 30s style prints and would LOVE your small scraps to cut squares out of  PM me for pics of what sorts of fabrics I'm looking for.

5. A big decorated three-ring binder with various projects and tutorials for different crafty projects. I would love it if it had tabs to separate different sections (like "sewing" and "jewelry") with each section having a few projects either from craftster or photocopied from craft books/mags or written by you!

About me: I'm a 20 year old working college student in Portland, Oregon. Im studying to become a social worker (I think). Right now I do vocational support for adults with developmental disabilities, and I can honestly say it's the best job I've ever had. I love nature and animals; I have three cats, a dog, a hamster, two chickens, and some fish. I don't like super flashy things (neon, huge hawaiian flowers, lots of glitter, etc) and my favorite colors are green, red, and blue. I love vintage stuff -- some of my favorite fabrics are 30s style prints. I also like more modern patterns, like bold stripes and polka dots and there is a special place in my heart for super-cutesy cat prints.

15  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Last minute Medusa. on: November 02, 2006 11:48:02 AM
I wasn't really planning on doing a Halloween costume this year but I gave in and decided to go as Medusa. Kind of simple compared to most of the stuff here, but I thought I'd share it anyway.

A few other shots:

17  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / OWS13 - - Angels found! on: October 12, 2006 06:47:39 AM
I'm afraid I need two more swap angels for the Ongoing Wish Swap 13. Sad

DIY kits:
     * decopage - here are a few themes... poodles, dinosaurs, trains, space/planets/spaceships...?
    *  bookbinding - I am totally totally new at the whole book thing!
     * kanzashi making - it would be great for flowers and other things as well
     * chinese knotting kit - I would love to learn to do this!
     *  mosaic yard art diy kit - I will find a bowling ball or something to mosaic. No need to mail that..I am not sure how to do the rest though..
     * stained glass - I have no clue.. would love to learn how to do this!
*how to silk screen diy kit
*how to work with resin - I would like to make pendants!
*how to make microscope slide jewelry!

Anything off of my wists..or to get ideas of things/styles I like

Stuff for my kids:
1    a pair of overnight duffles/big bags, whatever for my boys for when they go to grandmas. One loves dinosaurs and the other loves trains and spaceships.  They have to be really machine washable my inlaws house is very musty so I wash everything before I let it into the house!  They like realistic things, not cartoony. my secret foc hooked me up with these babies!

2      Fabric Dinosaur and spaceship pillows machine washable please!  My kids love realistic things.

3    zip front hoodies - size 4/5 t for my dinosaur lover(he loves blue too) and/or a size 6/7 for my spaceship/planets lover (he also loves green)  Believe it or not it does get cold in Alabama!

4.  tshirts - my dinosaur lover likes blue especially and my space lover is really fond of green.. embroidered? Silk screened?

Dog stuff
I have a few things on my wists list to look at but here is a rundown.

dog beds.  I can actually use a few since I am lazy and hate moving them from room to room all day long...  think cat bed - raised sides.  he likes small confines - I have som wild ones on my wists!

a doggie rain coat

dog toys that can withstand chewwing!  No rawhides tho - anything poodle themed right now is cool with me!

Crafty and Crochet stuff...

Book - Stupid Sock Creatures!  I am in LOVE with this book and must have it - so I can make them for everyone!  I would totally love someone forever on that one - I am good with second hand too!

purse handles - the more the merrier - I don't care much for the round ones.  I have oodles of those.. they just aren't very user friendly.  I like the ones that are for clutches - no bambo.  nobody seems to like the bamboo looking ones... okay, I take it back on the round ones -  would love some really big wooden round ones so I can make that tote bag for knottie dottie!

a sewing goodies bag - I think this would be what I am actually looking for to help me get it all together for my designing - as long as one of my half sized spiral notebooks would fit in it this would be awesome!
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=73010.0 *I might be personal swapping for this one...

wooden boxes for wood burning - cigar boxes are good - even better if the paper has been removed from them!

a head - you know for modelling hats - preferrably not a styrofoam one facefess - I'd like something photogenic...

Please no yarn!  I am probably one of the few crocheters that beg for no yarn.  You have no idea how much I have.  Let's just say I donate blankets at the holidays for stash reduction...

Things for me..

1     yard art.  Is that funny?  No wooden fat ladies bending over.  If you send it though, I will use it... okay, my mother gave me this creepy flag(I don't do flags) of some girl wearing a pink dress holding a watering can. That is still in my garage. If you would like it, I will be happy to send it...  I really need to freecycle that thing out of my garage.  I am sure somebody out there will love and cherish that thing...okay, maybe not..  I love natural things - creatures and whatnot.  I would love a gnome.  I only have this tiny tiny gnome from Walmart - equivalant to a dollar store gnome - so he isn't looking too hot.  He is riding a turtle next to the toad abode.

2     tshirts - I love tshirts - I would love shirts with embroidery on them.  I like flowers, poodles(but I am not too fond of the Sublime Stitch one - a little too girly for me even though it is cute), koi(I'll buy and scan the book from the library with the koi needlework if you will make it...) trees.. nature.. Okay, I am easy to figure out.  I would be happy with embroidered whatever... but not all over the shirt. I have one that is just around the neckline(it is a buttondown that one is) and it is sooo adorable.  Love it.  I am amazed at embroidery - and sewing.  If it involves needles, I am perplexed by it.  Just can't grasp the whole thing..

I have several embroidery and stencilled or screened tshirts in my wist list for viewing!  I am loving the gnome shirts that I wisted!

3    placemats  - I would love some fabric placemats - and maybe even cloth napkins.  My table seats 8 but I would take 4 in a pinch but would love 8 eventually.

4     quilted wall art.  If you make it, I will hang it.  Homerof2 made me an awesome one - I am hooked now!!!!  Must... have....more...

5     fabric bowls/boxes. These amaze me.  I don't get along with my sewing machine very well.  I really must make friends with it - I see a lot of purse linings in my future!

6   stained glass stuff.  If yo make it, I will hang it!  I don't know why I don't have any stained glass things - butterflies, fairies, birds, it's all good.  I am nearly desperate enough to buy those ones that you make in the oven. ha ha ha.  no seriously.  I can't wait for the kids to be old enough to do that!  How cool is that? It's marked off!!  whooo hoo!

7    a knitted Hallowig - in a "normal" color - no neons or hot pinks.. maybe a burgundy?  I miss dying my hair red! woooo hoooo!  I am crossing this off for a good reason!!!

8.  knitted elbow length mittens (no wool!)

9.  here are a few links to necklaces I like..
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=104672.0 - I like the first and the last one...

10. a xylophone windchime -

11. a valance for my craft room - which is in bad need of sprucing up.  I don't want to hang curtains.. just a valance - something "me"

12. kanzashi - big ones this time around - and maybe that butterfly that is posted here - need more!  more! more!  I have to fill up my shadowbox now that I got the small ones!

13.  this cape.... grey is great tooo!  I luuuuuve this cape

Surprise me. Just surprise me.  Stalk me.  I am a pretty  easy person.  I crochet .. I machine knit .. so those things I can do myself.  I love to be amazed!  I am awe struck by embroidery.  I can't do it to save myself.  If you embroider on a tshirt... love love love.  I am wearing a shirt right now that a Craftster made for me...so I do use what is sent to me!(okay, I have only been given one shirt for me - so if you are out there, you know I am actually wearing it!

Something inspred by my wists (www.wists.com/bhean)

- Sugar skull molds (oh joy!)

- Unusual Toys for You to Knit and Enjoy booklet by Jess Hutchison - I'm hoping I haven't missed the boat on this one.

- PMC - OMG is this stuff so cool or what  (Instructions would be really useful too)

- Japanese fabric, even scraps are great!

- Japanese crafting books or mags - even not in english is ok

- Resin casting kit

Crafted stuph:

-this is a long shot, but I'd love a Mamaponcho in black - http://www.mamaponcho.ch/home_EN.html

- tablecloth with cool designs - tattoo, celtic, skullies, Frida, wicca

- art dolls- creepy or fantasy or both!

- a little nestlace with blue eggs - pretty!

- ANYTHING with skullies

- Nightmare before Xmas stuph

- A black T-shirt with THIS http://www.jbox.com/IMAGE/3kxkw in red

I'm a 33 yo SAHM with 3 kids (+1) living in Acton, Ontario trying to fit my art-making in between dinners, naps and playdates....my favorite colours are black, red, purple, cobalt.  I really dislike pastels.  I adore skulls, greenmen, cool stripey-legged dolls, medieval stuph, and general goth-y goodness.  I love ephemera, embellishing, and anything old and crusty....yum.  But duct-tape and I are in a "business, not for pleasure" relationship...I use too much of it around the house to fix stuff

Thanks! Smiley

1.   Type writer earrings like these:
2.   I LOVE knitted things, but I havent really gotten past the scarves-and-other-straight-things stage yet, so I am amazed by knitted stockings or leg warmers similar to one of these
   http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring03/PATTlegwarmers.html  (on the way!  Woot!)
   Or this purse    http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=98890.msg959376#msg959376

Your real name:
Mailing address:
Have you read the Swap Guidelines and understand how this swap works?
Are you a Friend of Craftster?
Have you been a Swap Angel (with proof in profile)?

VERY IMPORTANT: Remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=6553.0

How This Swap Works:
Please READ CAREFULLY! This is a pretty new style of swap, and it works
differently than most.

The first person puts a list together of all the things they could
imagine wanting that they cant make. YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY ITEMS ON YOUR

Then people will read that list, and see if they see something they want to/can make on there. Someone replies to the thread and say I claim Suzie and Im going to make her a pink scarf" or whichever wish they are fulfilling.  When they reply, they will also say "This is my first wish" or "this is my third wish, but the first one has been recieved" They would PM Suzie to get her info to mail it.

Then comes the fun part!  You get to post your list of wishes!
(Please have your wish ready, this swap moves very quickly!  Please include your country at the start of your wishlist)
Then someone picks you and fulfills ONE of your wishes.
Then they post their list, and so on.

Friends of Craftster are allowed 3 wishes at one time, others are allowed 2 wishes.  Do not choose over your given limit.  Become a friend of craftster, go here http://www.craftster.org/subscribe.phphttp://www.craftster.org/subscribe.php

If you are at your limit, you can choose again once one of your partners recieves, NOT when you send.

***Please remember the last person who posted their list is up for grabs***

Now if the thread gets in a rut for a few days/hours, the person who made the last wish should add to their list if they can think of anything else, until someone decides to craft for them.

***Do not claim someone unless you can fulfill that wish to a high caliber***

Let's keep the quiality high here. I don't want to recieve PMs with people concerned with the lack of quality of their items.  Please, just work your hardest to keep the bar high on the quality of items here!  Don't choose just for the sake of choosing, choose to make someone else a really AWESOME wish!

Please be communicative if you are having any issues. If you communicate you still need to send your item in a timely manner.  Communication does not mean you can send as late as you want. One week past deadline you will have negative feedback, this is only temporary, it will be changed back once you fulfill your obligation for late item(s).  Do not choose to craft for someone if you do not think you can meet these deadlines.

- Don't forget to get a DC NUMBER when shipping in your own country!  This will be recorded in your feedback and is VERY IMPORTANT.
- Please communicate when you send and recieve, or if you are going to be late.  Poor communication will be recorded in your feedback.
- PM me when sending, note the # of the wish you are sending, as well as if it is in or out of country, and your DC# if there is one.
-If you are sending out of country, include the Customs Number in your PM
