Hey. I love these hot/cold bags. My friend made one for me for Christmas and then I made this one for my boyfriend's mother:





I filled the bag with rice and flax seed and added rosemary and lavendar essential oil to the mix. I was warned not to heat them more than three minutes because it could fry the rice! JoAnn's and Micheal's are good for picking up half yards of fabric to use for them. (I only used a quarter of a yard in total.)

Hey, thanks you guys. My friend was just telling me that she got that book from her school library...I might be able to get her to copy some of the projects for me. The website looks helpful...I'll try that until until I can get my hands on the book.  Smiley

Hey, here are a couple of my early crochet projects. The first one is a patriotic red, white and blue head kerchief thing. It's just double crochet...the triangle shape is from adding an extra d.c. into the last d.c. of each row. I added two braids on either end of the top for straps.


The second one is my first attempt at a purse. I'm not keen on the peaches and cream look but I had the extra wool laying around. I didn't use a pattern or anything, I just sort of winged it. There's the two sides and the strap joined together on the outside with d.c. I had a little trouble attaching the ends of the straps. If anyone has tips on that, I'd love the help!


I've been using Patons First Steps in Crochet when I get stuck. I don't know if that helps.
