1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: help with finding a wrap top pattern on: November 20, 2007 03:01:43 AM
Hey - I was just poking around and came across this old post.  Did you ever end up making your wrap top?  How did it go?
sorry for not replying sooner...life gets in the way sometimes.
Well my pattern turned out rather unwearable    well it was only a trial run, but i think it would have been ok if I hadnt lost 16lbs between starting and finishing it!

I will have a look at the new pattern suggested and see If its available here, as I like to have a look before I buy, also to see what fabric the shops have, as not as much choice in shops now as 20 years ago.

love the pattern especially the vintage green version Smiley

thanks again for all your help with this.

Recently I tried making a long skirt for DD out of two old pairs of hipster jeans (still in the process of getting it to fit right) and had the top of one pair left...
http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i212/yllas8/jeansbefore.jpg

didn't want to make  a bag or cushion cover and was really stuck for ideas when suddenly I thought of the craft hipster
http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i212/yllas8/crafthipster.jpg
Very easy to make and after unpicking the fly and adding a new hem I reused the back pockets and made two large pockets from complementary fabric and attached them to the front of the new pockets which I then sewed to the "back" (now the front) of the jeans....it does up so easily with the original button http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i212/yllas8/crafthipsterback-1.jpg
and fits perfectly as they did before. Now I use it as a "tool belt" but for crafting, and the pockets are suitable for all those fiddly embellishments and are handy when you're in the middle of a creation and the door bell rings (just pop the item in your pocket)

Please let me know what you think...thanks Smiley

How about buying an 8x8 scrapbook album (i find this a good size for a present album) and then do a page each for you, family etc with some info on each..i'd suggest you look at some scrapbook sites (and search on here) for ideas and styles etc. It can be as basic or as decorative as you want. And the joy about scrpbook albums is you can take or add pages as need be. GL with it, and have fun Smiley
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Where do you knit? on: September 10, 2006 01:26:43 AM
I knit in bed or on long journeys in the car, as well as on the sofa watching TV. I'm knitting a pixie hat for a friends unborn baby..don't have a pattern so have unpicked the seam on one I had years ago...
