They're sister believe it or not! From the same litter. And thanks. Smiley

They are indeed Schauzers. Which is why I knit them sweaters. They're not shaped like other dogs so it's hard to buy off the rack stuff for them. And they LOOOVE their sweaters. Smiley

Okay, so like a bad person I've left poor Craftster widow to the all consuming addicting Ravelry. So, I have a whole bunch of FO's to show off. I can say this for Ravelry, the one thing it doesn't have that Craftster has is a place to show off you projects as they get done, you have to trust that someone is paying attention to the 'people' page or stalking your notebook.

Anyways, here goes.

Of course I knit more dog sweaters.

This one is some Caron Shadows yarn, exactly one ball of it. Modeled by Allie Mae.

This is made from SWTC SoySilk, about half a skein. Modeled by Dixie Lee

My best friend is pregnant, and while I'm chomping at the bit to make baby stuff, we won't know the sex of the baby for awhile, so I've settled on making this letter bear clothes until I figure out whether I'm knitting for a boy or girl. The plan is to knit it themed sweaters (like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc.) so it has a whole wardrobe by the time the baby is born in April.

Here's the first sweater. Just to get the basic number of stitches I'll need, etc.

A few months ago I wanted to figure out short row shaping, so I picked up the Calorimetry pattern from Knitty and went to it.

It's knit from scraps from several different balls of Noro.

That's it for now. I've got a top down raglan cardigan on the needles (first people sized sweater I've knit!) and a cabled scarf for a swap I'm doing on Ravelry. Plus more sweaters for Pooh!

Adorable! I have two toy Schnauzers that require sweaters even inside in the air conditioning in the summer. Poor little dogs with no body fat. Sad But thank goodness we can knit!

Sashi looks dashing. Good job.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / and.....another dog sweater! yay! on: July 14, 2007 04:11:01 PM

So this is Wendy. She's not my dog, but she is my friends dog, and after forcing my own little Schnauzers to model countless sweaters for me, I 'borrowed' Wendy. Well actually I'm dog sitting her while my friend is out of town and it just happened to be a good occasion to make her a sweater.

So here it is. It's not a shrug like some of my other patterns, this is actually a cardigan. Tapered on the under side to allow for easy potty access. Knitted on 10 1/2 circs. No real pattern, though it does follow the pretty mundane top down raglan theme, though I placed the sleeves a little farther forward than you would for a human.

Knitted quick, last night and this morning. Finished weaving in ends between watching The Breakfast Club and starting High Fidelity.

Still needs Velcro on the underbelly to keep it closed.

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: kitty in a doggy sweater on: July 09, 2007 06:22:20 PM
I'm a crazy cat lady. And dog lady. And goats if my boyfriend would let me have some. Smiley
The sweater is super cute, I knit almost solely for my dogs, (well for everyones dogs, sometimes even for profit!) and I always like seeing other peoples puppy clothes. You're very lucky you have a cat that will tolerate having it on. My cat sees me with a sweater and she is under the bed in no time flat.
