1  inspiration struck...and robbed me of my entire sunday! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Strangel on: June 02, 2008 08:02:54 AM
i was browsing craftster Saturday and was inspired by the mini bowling bag made by qazicat http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=64535.0
and by the amy butler sophia carry-all http://www.amybutlerdesign.com/products/patterns_display.php?id=35

so i got my fabric on Saturday and spent my entire day sunday drafting a pattern and making the bag.

I'm actually surprised that after staring at it for 12 hours, i actually still like it!

it is 11 inches at its widest point, 7 inches tall and 4 inches deep.

open and empty

my first attempt at a slash style pocket

filled up

this was also my first time using and making my own piping...  i love the way it looks and i learnd a lot, but im not sure how much more i will use it.

thanks for looking!

this is what i sent beatofadragon. she will post 'action' pics when she gets ahold of a camera.

all wrapped up

a sleep sack for her ferrets. it's stretch jersey on the outside and fleece on the inside.

a jacket for her pit bull, Cow.

flannel on the inside

a cow patterned collar, with a polymer clay name tag (i may have went too far with this one)

a green leopard collar with studs and chains

and for her, a bone shaped carabiner and a polymer clay jack skellington charm

i also sent peanut butter treats that i didn't take a picture of for some reason.

beatofadragon, you didn't say if the jacket fit properly, does it? i hope so!

so i am pretty much furious with the rental office! (and the post office) Angry.  I went up to the rental office today, because i felt like it had been waaaaay to long since my partner shipped..And i still hadn't received.  My package had been sitting there "all last week" she said!  i was so angry. Apparently the post woman didn't feel it was necessary to leave a card in my mailbox that told me i had a package at the office.  Oh, and thats not even the end of it!  Then i recognize another package, THE ONE I MAILED TO BEATOFADRAGON!!  or i thought i mailed it.  Oh, i was so angry i snatched it up and dropped it in a mailbox myself.  I don't understand how it ended up in the room of packages they received, when it was in the pile of stuff that was going out that day!  but whatever.  sorry julie, Sad your package is finally on it's way.

Anyway..onto the pictures..

she crocheted(that doesnt look like i spelled it right.) each of my doggies a crate pad out of fabric strips.  and they fit perfectly in their crates.

I couldn't get an action shot, they didn't understand why i told them to kennel up if i didn't have my shoes, purse, etc.

she also chrocheted(?) a big cozy blankey for them to sleep on (and my favorite color too!)
here is dexter, dimitri and their 'cousin' oliver checking out the blankie

and dexter loving it

Thanks julie! the doggies love what you sent!

7  HELP! I dropped a stitch and i can't find it! in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by Strangel on: November 01, 2007 09:03:58 PM
Let me start off by saying that I am super new to knitting and this is my first post on the knitting boards. (this is also my first object i actually plan to finish)  a cry for help, how sad!    I'm sure it would be a lot easier to find a dropped stitch in person but i thought someone with more experience would be able to see it in a photo.

I'm pretty sure it was on the row just below my needles because i am an obsessive counter, and i had just counted a few stiches back.   I have no idea what i am looking for and my knitting for dummies book isn't helping me.  I'm fairly, kind of, maybe certian that is is right around my needles somewhere so that is where i took the picture.  if you need a better picture let me know!  I appreciate any help!

8  Re: Dino hoodie! for tiny doggie!!! in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by Strangel on: August 20, 2007 10:39:37 PM
I really love this idea. I'm going to make one for a friend's dog. If you don't mind, how exactly did you resize your hood part? And how much did you take off the sleeves?

for the sleeves i pretty much guessed...if you want to be more accurate i would get the dogs measurements and then a leave a little room for the dog to move around.

as for the hood...

i hope this makes sense...

lay the hood flat with right sides together so it looks like this

...or something like this anyway.. then stitch where you need to, to make it smaller

i hope that helped!!

thanks everyone!

i drew up a paint picture to sort of explain how i made the hoodie..

you should start with a hoodie that from shoulder to shoulder is the same (or close to the same) size as your puppy's measurement from 'shoulder to shoulder'.

it's really rough...sorry.  let me know if i can clarify anything
