You could use shrinky-dink material, you can buy it at craft stores like Michael's. I use colored pencils on mine, but you can use permanen markers, too. It's inexpensive and you can make your own shapes.

Sammyb, I know how you feel! I found out last week and I've been testing ever since. And I knew I was pregnant the day after! I made a quilt for my four year old son while I was pregnant with him and he still curls up with it in the morning in front of cartoons. I decided to go a little different this time and try knitting a blanket for #2 (due 9/18/06). I got started early, this way if I decided I'd rather make a quilt, I have time to repurpose it. I definitely find that crafting keeps my mind off the impending baby a little and calms my soul. Yay babies!!
