1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Does anyone know how to cover bottlecaps? on: April 20, 2005 04:58:32 PM
I have a crochet-covered bottlecap that someone gave me years ago.  It looks like a simple circular pattern, then drawn around the bottlecap like a yo-yo...but crocheting is somewhat new to me.  Does anyone have a pattern?  I used the bottlecap today as the center of a flower on a purse embellishment. Very cute!  Would make adorable buttons on a jacket too.
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Eek, my glue on my mosaic wasn't dry on: February 21, 2005 12:05:05 AM
I made my best masterpiece yet--a 3D mosaic on a flower pot.  I knew I had used the wrong glue, but I was trying not to waste what I had.  I went out at the last minute and got a better glue for the latter part of the pot, but what I didn't realize was that this glue wasn't dry when I grouted.  And I'm not sure the first glue is really strong enough.  I had tiles and rocks falling off all over the place.  NOW what do I do?  Do I just go back and re-glue what fell off, or do I need to worry that some of the glue under some of the tiles will never dry?Huh  I think it's salvageable, I just don't know if this is a bigger problem underneath (literally)
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / How do I make a pleated skirt from a tee shirt? on: June 01, 2004 11:14:09 PM
There are a few threads here about making skirts from thrift store t-shirts, but I can't find any info on how to make it pleated.  I like the box pleats look.  How do I get that look with a knit fabric?  Do I need a pattern?  And how do I make the top band area from another shirt?  I'm not used to just working it out without a pattern, so I need a bit of a boost.  Thanks
