I am a big fan of sock monkey celebrities...I have quite a few commissions on my list.  I am halfway through a Hedwig (complete with angry inch), I did a David Bowie, several baseball players, another elvis...and HALOWEEN is coming up.  Frankenstein & bride, dracula and plenty of zombies!

Don't these people know I have homework to do?

A co-worker asked for an Elvis sock monkey and being the elvis nut that I am, I obliged.  I had a moment of weakness and started glueing the sequins on instead of sewing them...but is was 2:00 am.  I sacrificed a TCB keychain so as not to feel guilty about it.  The hair needs work, but, as I said...it was late.  And I procrastinated.

Hope you like him!

I wanted to start making felt birds, small enough to hold in your hands or put in the pouch of your favorite bag.  I made my first one last night...I am not 100% happy about the shape, so there are some revisions in the works.  Also, I am planning on more decorative embroidery and beading....

Whaddya think?

6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / I need help catagorizing! on: July 29, 2006 03:23:46 PM
I don't know whether to list my recent creations under geekery or toys.  I won't re-post pics, but here is the link to original post.

How much traffic depends on catagory?  Do you think more people browse by key words or catagories?

Whadda ya think?

these are awesome and with a little matching the thread to the felt (when the stitches pull through to the right side on stuffies and they're a totally different color is one of my random pet peevies) you can price these $15 **EASY**.

Yeah...I kind of like picking threads that contrast the felt color, but I should be more careful about coordinating the color with other things.  These were my first three and I have already started becoming more obsessive about such matters.

Thanks for the quick feedback guys!

I only started selling my crafts this year and am still not very good at pricing my items.  I am too meek!  ooohhhh..a meek monster! *shucks* I wish I could craft at work!

I made these last night and now I can't stop! I see myself surrounded by new felty friends come sunday.  Maybe I should build an ark!

*I finished this guy on my lunch break today!*
