1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / **Updated!! more scans!!***Summer 09 Sketchbook!! Lotsa scans! on: June 06, 2009 04:45:05 PM
Hi!
This summer, my friend and I decided that we would keep a sketchbook this summer.  I began May 17th, right after finals were over...phew! And I've been drawing one page each day...or just about.  Materials: Pen, crayons, acrylic paint, magazine pages, and lots and lots of rubber cement.  It's been a lot of fun and I'm excited to see how it's going to look with it all together.  I have so many ideas... haha. Here's what I have so far!!

These are all in order...this is when my friends took me to go surfing, for the first time! It was so much fun, I can't believe I didn't try it sooner!

These are scanned so it has two pages in one...if that makes sense...haha

My scanner didn't pick up all the colors, so they seem kind of light

I need to fix the sleeping one, don't like it too much...

The one with the flowers is actually colored in with a light sage green color.

I like the color blue, if you couldn't tell, haha Smiley

My close friends and I decided to form a band, ignoring the fact that we have neither singing nor dancing skills haha.

Wouldn't it be trippy if the moon wasn't real this whole time??

Sometimes I think too much, haha.  My parents are from China, I could've been too.

spongies!

I haven't finished this page yet...

So thoughts? Comments? Hope you liked it!!! It's my summer so far!

******UPDATE!**********

HI! So I stopped drawing in it everyday because I ran out of steam, so I only drew when I felt like it... I feel sort of guilty but here is what I have!  Feel free to ignore my comments if they are irritating haha!

this one is still unfinished... and on the other page, I was trying to make her hair look like water, but it just looks like her brains are exploding

my friend had a mole frozen off of her, so i got scared and now use lots of sunscreen!!

the flying girl looks a little awkward.

these are my favorites so far...but my nikon's shutter broke so i was sad, so i obviously had to draw it. Roll Eyes

my friends took me body surfing!! it was sooo fun!!

this one is a little embarressing...shhhh! Lips sealed

these have funny stories behind them....or well the first one does. the second one is from That 70's Show. Cheesy

i hate this one!

i don't know why i used blue ink even though i really hate that color ink, haha

yept...

not finished, i need to practice cursive haha.

unfinished. i know its not osmosis though, i just like that word

unfinished. i know i said i was trying not to draw cartoons, but its so hard!

And as always, I love to hear your comments!!

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / i'm back and with a hoodie too on: April 14, 2006 06:05:19 PM
i gave up craftster for lent and now i'm back.

I had tons of time over spring break to make lots of stuff and i made this hoodie!  I was inspired by stuff I saw on the internet and I decided to make a black hoodie with three fourth sleeves with music notes.
I just went to the fabric store and picked out this terrific green fabric to go with the black fabric. blah blah blah and a day later i got this!! it was soooo tiresome to sew on the music notes. I took lots of pics but i only have a junk webcam, I can't afford a nice digi cam so sorry !!  I hope you can see it, it looks way nice in real life tho.  I just hope it doesn't fall apart when I wear it. Tongue  I wore it to school once but yea.  i'm blabbing so onto the pics!!

Front:  seems like your basic black hoodie with green faux cuffs, trim at the bottom, and lining in the hood

Side: then wam! there's music notes coming outta the side of the pocket!  (oops sorry if it's too small)

Back: and if i feel like it and wear the hood up, you can see all the notes traveling up the back! =D

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Bunny Coin-Purse on: January 20, 2006 04:03:03 PM
Hehe this board is the whole reason I got started on Craftster! I will post all the bags I made because of your inspiration...one day...haha.
I wanted to sew an mp3 player cozy for my friend, but I didn't make it big enough so oh well, I get to use it as a coin purse!!.  Made from scratch with a pom pom tail and stuffed with cotton.  I made my own pattern, but it's kind of like making a zippered lined pouch but in smaller and different size.  The head is a little floppy, so sometimes when I hold it, it looks beheaded.  I made a penguin and a chicken too, but my older sister took them.

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / ipod cover, two colors! on: January 20, 2006 03:56:56 PM
My friend loves yellow and orange and she wanted a new ipod cover so I  made one for her.  she wanted the front to be yellow and the back to be orange.  The window was a little hard and it was fustrating to keep remembering to keep carrying over the yarn so I could switch colors.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Gingerbread Shirt on: January 20, 2006 02:38:44 PM
This is one of my most recent recons, I have lots of others but I'm too lazy to take pictures.  I got a really comfy size small regular shirt for volunteering at our Easter Seal's gingerbread festival in december.  I tried making a hoodie out of it, but I couldn't find a nice big white zipper so I scrapped that idea.  I made a wide, boatneck-ish neck line, cut the bottom and reattached it to make it a little shorter and also I like the look of a bottom band and made side ties with it, and cut the sleeves shorter.  Some how, even though this shirt says small I still had to make it smaller! It felt like a medium, oh well.

It still feels a bit plain and I want to do something with the image in the front.  I don't know what to add to it, so I wonder if you guys have any suggestions?
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / First project post...scarfs and a hat.. on: January 06, 2006 05:38:03 PM
In sophmore year, I spontaneously decided to teach myself a new skill and I picked knitting!!  I bought some blue yarn and then used chopsticks to knit it Tongue Roll Eyes  i just told myself that I was only going to do it once.  The only stitch i knew was knit and I knitted a very wide and very long scarf, all garter stitch. I used the whole skien of red heart yarn and it took sooo long. Boy, I thot it was the most boring thing in the world...I am very impatient and gets bored very easily.  it took me a whole month cause I kept putting it down after 10 minutes of knitting...
so here it is, I hope the picture works
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/50246first_scarf.JPG

After that, I found a HUGE hole near the beginning of the scarf and it wouldn't stop unraveling...so i had to unravel it...the whole thing and knit it up again.  that took 2 weeks tho but i was too fustrated and decided to never knit again Cheesy oh how very wrong i was.

In the mean time, my mom was teaching me how to crochet and I liked this better because it was fast!!
In junior year, I went to visit my cousins and they all were knitting!!  So I bought some bamboo needles and some furry white and blue yarn and they taught me some new stitches to do.  I lost that scarf cause I gave it to my mom.  I taught them how to crochet.

I went to the doctor because my wrists hurt and he said that I was going to get carpal's tunnel syndrome because I wouldn't rest while crocheting so I kind of had to stop crocheting.

After the fiasco with the furry yarn, I didn't knit that much and got into sewing.  then I went to craftster (to look at the bags) and saw the knitting and was intruiged by it.  i totally didn't know how to do stockinette or knit with dpns or circulars or any other kind of stitches.  I love to purl..hehe i like the breaks from doing the same stitches over and over.  So i made a bright green hat after learning how to purl.

Yea, I made lots of things with the bright green yarn but I gave most of them away and some are too hideous to look at.
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/50246green_hat.JPG

Then I saw the illusion scarf and fell in LOVE with it and had to make it but I didn't want to make snowflakes.  So I decided to make my own pattern...(I also learned how to read a pattern...yay) and i made another scarf!!  I didn't know how to make the illusion show up on the camera...too hard with a webcam(sorry for the bad quality btw)...and also I was still in love with the stockinette stitch so i made it stockinette for the middle part.

it was fun and I made another one for my friend, bright orange and yellow and the illusion was her name, but i gave it to her for christmas.

Now i'm making a cabled scarf for my mom, but I don't have any pics of that....hehe sorry for writing so much Kiss
