Okay, I live in Marquette and know many crafty punky ladies and resourceful mamas here in real life, I am wondering who are we missing?
If you are a Yooper crafter/maker/artist, please respond and introduce yourself!

my name is Mavis and I am an artist, seamstress, dreamstress, drummer, and a work at home mama. I create natural fiber clothing and re-sourced housewares, among other things.

Who and where are ya?

The "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day" authors apparently made the rounds when their book first came out last fall and interviews/demos by them are all over Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMxJgIpe38Q&feature=related  They use a preheated pizza stone with a pan of water in the bottom of the oven for steam, but they really highlight their recipe's versatility.

Fascinating!

I know...I just interlibrary loaned the book and should have it in about a week--I will post results!

That is totally cool!!  I will be making one myself in a few years...my girl is 10months old!  May I suggest the felt food swap if you swap!

But really BEAUTIFUL!!!!  & FUN...more fun than plastic and less lead!  LOL!

oooh! felt food is a great idea! DD is 18 months and was very into her cousin's play kitchen when we visited (she was 13 mos then). That's what started the whole ball rolling...
